Neither. First I study it before adoption. Some change works, but the individual in me declares that I will not allow others to tell me what to do, how to do it, or when. Take OzeroCare for instance.......

OH gosh.  I fear as I'm getting older I tend to fight it more.

But, the truth is, it depends how the change occurs and how much control I feel of it.  For example, there are certain things my franchise is forcing upon us that are frustrating.  Most of these cost more money and take up more time, and I get frustrated.  But, one of the things they did I thought was smart and actually leads to more sales.  While I'm resistant to changing my sales approach, I'm keeping an open mind and trying to embrace and incorporate parts of it.

There are some things that are changed by great forces, like the economy. Then, I learn ways to adapt and when they are self imposed solutions, I feel good about those.

Honestly it depends on what it is - I love new bright shiny pennies in business- my team keeps trying to slow me down- I love new restaurants, don't care about new clothes, and really dislike the change going on in my hometown - which is growing like crazy -

By nature, I admit I tend to resist it, because it often means I have to then conquer something new and I don't always embrace the challenge.  But since everything is constantly changing, may as well embrace it.

Kaitlyn Jenner (aka Bruce) is the new "embodyment" of the word change.  That change; however, I would not "embrace".  The only thing constant in this world is change!

My nature is fairly conservative (not in the political sense - although it is) in that I do not like change.  However, as I get older I am training myself to be more flexible and think out of the box.

Always depends on what the change is.  I don't believe in change for the sake of change.  I also don't believe in the "change you can believe in" promised by a certain POTUS.  But I do believe in progress, and keeping an open mind to new things.

Joe,

We are more likely to embrace than fight it.  We do our due dilligence prior to adopting changes, and read trusted sources.  We have accepted that this is part of  the  times we live in, especially with technology moving at a rapid rate.  I am reading that innovation is slowing down.

Hi Joe -- I'd like to say I always embrace change but realistically there are times when I shake my head -- is this change for the sake of change?   I like to know the reasons behind the change and I have better grasp how to embrace or fight. There's typically a workaround that can be put in place.

I remember someone telling me that in order to succeed in real estate you have to be a "Hybrid Agent". What he meant by that is you have to be flexible and be able to use your skills and adapt them for other things and new markets. I am always trying to figure out how to use my skills and capture new business opportunties. I think that should be part of everyones marketing and business plan.

It depends on the change!  If it's technology, I let others try it first, then I see what doesn't work about that version and wait for the next version or a fix to the issue.  If it's about marketing, i'm all over it!

It has been said that change devalues experience.

Many of us resist understanding that the older ways of doing things, using very effective systems that we developed over many years are not as useful in today's environment.

It seems that I at least, spend an ever increasing percentage of my time learning new stuff instead of what I consider to be listing and selling real estate.

I love change-either as it's happening or years later when I look back-having resisted it initially. At times, I count on it, because today may not be great, but tomorrow has the promise to be anything I choose. Some change I cause: moving to San Diego for example after 35 years in The San Francisco Bay Area. That created a whole lot of change in my business I'll never regret, even though it was a tough transition professionally. Other change is tough: the death of a loved one, the loss of a relationship, but with every goodbye we learn and with each change we grow.
