I wish I could get some help or a good tutorial John. I can shoot videos but I am elementary when it comes to editing or adding text, slicing or anything besides the straight video. (this is a cry for help).

iMovie default Mac product.  Buy the music it's cheap enough.  Purchased a high end camera, tripod and microphone.  Great investments.  Keep it simple John Novak

There is another resource from the Genisis guys available from 'Hollywood Types' that is still fully compatible with iPhone but has a much more robust professional element and associated price tag. 

Moral to the story....the Canon Vixis HD R600 is not required and the full suite including super wide lens is less that 1/4 the cost.

I have not used video in my blog.

I use final cut X. As far as music goes, what fits the mood I am wanting to create.

John - Sounds like video editing is something a lot of people would like to know more about. I don't know much about the editing at all, so unfortunately can't help you.

My husband does all that for me.  Thank goodness!

I specifically use iMovie and YouTube has some music you can use that is free.

I do all my editing on Adobe Elements 10.

There is such diversity of software available to do this. The answers get will all basically be driven by "what a person uses" and "how easy was this or that to use"... With that said, the choices range from completely free to ultra expensive. 

A bit of history... I have spent the last year developing a video streaming system for one of our businesses. In the process of it all, I have had to work with multiple video capture/editing software packages.

By answering a few questions, we can hopefully point you in a productive direction...

1: What primary operating system/hardware do you currently use? Is it Apple, or PC,  and what OS are you using?
2: Are you going to produce your own videos off a camera, or are you going to have someone else shoot the actual video?
3: If you are doing your own, what type of camera are you using? What interfaces does the camera have, and does it support HD with HDMI output?
4: Are you going to produce these videos for your website, or to put on CD/DVD for prospective clients?
