I expect others to fall short of the mark and pre-compensate for it.

Debbie - I have pretty high standards for myself, but I also expect the same of others. I think that is partly why I am so disappointed all the time, because other people don't have the same high standards and expectations that I have.

My expectations and standards are for myself. I can't control others although I often wish I could.

I just expect people to be professional, responsible and honor their word. That shouldn't be asking too much, but lately, it seems it's too high of a standard to meet.
Hopefully, this is less of a trend and more of a blip.

I have learned over the years not to expect much from others. The crushing disappointment and anxiety is just not worth it.

I only have one standard in my professional life and that is HIGH! I expect all others to have the same, unfortunatly they seem to be getting lower as the years go by but I am not lowering mine to meet theirs.

Good morning Debbie. I have pretty high expectations of myself and all those that I work with, I'm sure that comes through when working with others.
Make it a great weekend!

Higher. I can not control the standards of others. I can only control my own.

Higher, as are my expectations for my children and family members. I feel that we are meant to be an example to strive for. We don't always meet our own expectations, but the effort is there.

Debbie, there is no doubt in my mind that my personal expectations for me are at a higher standard than what I see out there. It's always frustrating to work with people who expect (and deliver) so much less than I think should be.

I used to think my standards were "normal" and expected. Through the years, though, I have been disappointed to find apparently my standards are through the roof.

I expect others to do the best they can and I will acknowledge their effort.
To engage in the measure or judgment of others does not have a desirable end. Most often the outcome if the community given permission to throw our peers under the bus.
When I need to help others to get to the needed outcome, that is what I will do, graciously. It is the outcome, not the incidences that matter to the buyer and the seller. As a professional, I know I need to get myself OUT OF THE WAY.
As a result of a better point of view, I find I am surrounded by exceptional professionals, who are very knowledgeable and skilled in their chosen profession and we each share the same goal and will be co-operative in the achievement.
When I start making note of the defects in others, I KNOW it is because I am tired, mentally exhausted, stretched to the limit, and understand this assessment is about ME, not them. Those who are quick to call others 'stupid' are most certainly in this state, and also in denial.
My fear is, if they were ALL like me, (of course they are not) all that can be said is 'Heaven help us!"
Others are EXACTLY what I expect them to be.

Debbie,
I am with Michael Jacobs on this one. When we are working with someone we expect them to be on par with us, otherwise, we are not a match. It is easy for us to distinguish those who are and those who are not. A
