Absolutely. There's nothing worse than sitting in an open house then at 4 pm you go outside to retrieve your signs then realize the sign police came by and took them leaving you with no one viewing your listing.

I never thought about that and frankly don't do many open houses anymore. I figure for a couple of hours they can tolerate some promotional items.

Wanda - In our area, it is difficult to contact HOA's, even though we have their phone number. The problem is that anyone you talk with seems not to know anything about their association. Every time I call and say I am a Realtor, they act like it is the first time a Realtor has ever called and asked them a question, and they don't know how to respond.
I called one to find out about placing for sale signs in back yards that face the golf course, and could not get a straight answer whether that was allowed or not. My sellers said they see the for sale signs all the time in back yards when they are golfing, but I finally found out that the HOA does not allow for that. So, why were so many for sale signs there, who knows.

We don't have communities in our market that are that strict.

Wanda Kubat-Nerdin This is a good point. I listed a condo way back that did not allow for sale signs. The HOA let me know in a hurry.
