We have quite a few. I don't know how they all make a living. I have my list of favorites.

There are many new ones that are around now and I don't even know them. On one hand it is easier to get one scheduled with the older tried and true ones but I worry about the quality of the inspections with the newr and inexperienced inspectors.

Honestly? I only pay attention to the one I use. I don't look right or left.

Many dropped out of the business when the market went sideways--but to-date, I can't say I've seen a rush of inspectors coming into the business. (Realtors, yes, inspectors, no.)

How would a real estate agent know how many inspectors are getting into the business?
All I'm interested in is the name of the next good one. And that is obtained by observing who is inspecting my listing or referral from a peer.

Michael - Not that I have noticed. I only work with a few, and the rest I really do not even know about. However, we have always had a surplus of agents.

Actually the profession pays poorly. Most I know have another job supplement their income. They like other profession have to undercut others to get the job.
There are not that many inspectors who can squeeze into cranny spaces. The big guys do not make the grade. I will not take them.
Anyone ever seen a FEMALE HOME INSPECTOR? Anyone has hired one?
Sam
