I just heard Charlie Sheen say "if you can't pay it forward, don't get paid" - love that!

I belong to an amazing group called 100+ Women Who Care.  We meet once every 3 months for 1 hour.  We each can nominate a local charity of our choice and three get drawn from a hat.  Those 3 women are given 5 minutes to share why this is a worthy charity and why they deserve our money.  We then vote anonymously and the winner is announced and we each write a cheque for $100 to the winning charity.  We now have more than 200 members and that amounts to $20,000 raised in 1 hour for a needy local charity each and every quarter.  There are many female Realtors in my local chapter and none of us are in it to solicit business!

I ring the bell at Christmas for the Salvation Army and I have worked for years for our local Humane Societies but I'm working less for them now because I've found if we can help our homeless people and our people on the edge, we have less animals being abandoned by them.

There is a lot to be said about coming from contribution.

I am. I also donte my tine to local charities.; 

Our board has auctions, and the last one we had for the Salvation Army was $35,000. in one day.   Yes, I would say they are cheritable.

Oh my word YES! We are a very generous group of individuals.

It varies just like in any other business.  

Some are, just like a portion of the overall population is. I donated to SAR Fitkidz the last 12 months, not looking for a ROI just wanted to pitch in and help out :)  My wife is on the board, wanted to lend a hand to a good cause.

Some are, some are not.  I am charitable with my time & enjoy volunteering, but I am not extremely charitable with my money (although there are exceptions) because I put a lot of my money back into my business.

Some are some not so much.

Everyone has their hand out to real estate agents.  I donate on my own without fanfare.

I like to think that we are charitable. San Antonio agents come together for several fundraising events here locally. This year our office is collecting fans for senior citizens!! Many in our community to do not have AC units and we have HOT summers!! Childrens Miracle Network is a charity that all local RE/MAX office donate to.

I believe so. A portion of each commission check I receive goes to Children's Miracle Network. I actively support my local no-kill animal shelter. I don't look at these kinds of activities as a way of helping my real estate business.

It is the same as in any other business.  You can read the profiles of many agents who mention the worthy causes they support.
