Lenders should forget the frills -- useless marketing, lunch, stuff and concentrate on good information, follow-through and keeping promises made.

Doing what they say they are going to do, when they say they are going to do it, and owning any issues under their control, including underwriting, even if it costs them money to "fix" it.

Hi Arlene: In my 45 plus years in the mortgage business, I have tried co-branding, lunch, seminars, leads. Nothing works like success. By that I mean...good follow up, updates, and most important of all.... CLOSING ON TIME!. I also believe in getting back to my Realtor with bad news fast. That can sometimes save a deal, rather then waiting. I found out that many young mortgage professionals are afraid to say no,when in reality the Realtor needs to know if this will be a difficult loan or not.

I appreciate a lead from a lender I use a lot. I also appreciate good communication and honesty and timely closings with few delays.

All of the above! I have a 12 year working relationship wth my lender. I is awesome that he even updates the listing agent during the process of the loan.
I am so lucky to find a lender that emails, calls or text me if something comes up.

Hands down...LEADS.
To, at minimum, replace the ones you did not close.
