Yes, I have and I think it's a total mixup in social media as a whole. I get accepted requests from Facebook friends that I didn't even request to be friends with in the first place. Very confusing!!

They made this change in Linkedin a while ago. Sometimes you receive a congradulations for x years at a job, a new job title, etc... It appears that the strangers are people who are in your extended network (friends of friends). However, friends of friends = strangers.
