My office has sales meetings on Tuesday but I never go because it conflicts with my regular prospecting leads & expired listings.  It is more important to me to create business.

Debbie, our brokerage has cut back to bi-monthly meetings.  I think it depends on what is being offered up and if it provides value to make the 1/2 hour drive as we both work from home.

There are three agents in my office. Often we have informal sessions in Austin's office. We use to have a regular morning meeting, but it wasn't well attended. One third of our agents wouldn't show up...that was me. Although I do think office meetings are great to have.

We used to have a sales meeting every Monday, being present was never mandatory, attendance was about 90% pretty consistently. Everyone took a turn running the meeting, even though I owned the company, I seldom ever ran a meeting.

We have mandatory office meetings once a month. There is always something new to learn, its a great time to spend time together, go over our deals and any issues that my agents may be facing.

The reason agents quit attending, then brokers quit hosting them, is because the broker failed to provide value in exchange for the agents time.

Should it be imporant? of course it should. Now, there is blame to go around. One such meeting the broker stated, "I have $5,000 to spend. How can I spend it to help your business?"  The agents came up with ways to spend $5,000 that would make no difference what-so-ever in an agents business. It is possible, agents can't be helped...even through an office meeting.

We only meet once a month, and try to give value to our agents with a great guest speaker.  We do not let vendors come in and give a sales pitch.  They must provide value, and if they would like to network with the agent they can do that after the meeting.

Our office has a monthly meeting and our company holds quarterly meetings. It is extremely important to attend such meetings IF it is run like a meeting.

The meetings consist of:

  • Current marketing trends, local, national & international
  • Mortgage and Interest Rate Information
  • Discussions about anything that pertains to buyers and sellers
  • Educational material

Our office and company meetings are excellent!
