I usually click the like button every time I read a blog. This is just a small way to pay it forward as you build personal relationships with other bloggers.

By the way, I also click the like buttons on comments.

To be honest I do it to support fellow bloggers.  It's quick, easy, simply so why not? 

Hi Anna -- my view on the Like button.   I try(I may forget) to hit like for each post I comment as well as comments received on my posts.  I also try(again, won't say 100%) to hit like on questions I answer as well the responses received when I ask a question.   

I also press Like for great responses/comments/answers when I see something particularly like-worthy(smart, snarky, because I Like the person -- who knows why) anytime I feel like it.

Well, if I really like it, I click 'LIKE' button Anna Hatridge . Not to mention, I have soft corner for many of my AR friends who I interact with more often - so they get 'LIKE' by default.

Anna, I do so to support my friends, or if I think it is a good post.  

Great question Anna. Anytime I read a post that has good content, I will always like the post, but if not I may just comment.

For me I usually like posts that have a fresh take on something, are well written or are simply something I totally agree with. It could be a combination of those three elements. I once liked a post because the posters graphs were very attractive!

I always do it when I really value the blog content, and often do it to support the blogger.

If it is interesting.

 Nothing really. When I think about it I will click the like button. I have not gotten into the habit of doing it.

If you comment on my blog I click like on your comment and try to comment on your blog and wish you would click like on that comment. There are may giving people on Active Rain and it is give and take. You read mine and comment on mine, I will do the same for you.

I click it because I like it that is if I remember to do it. It doesn't hurt a thing and it lets the blogger know I support him.

Like many here if I agree with the topic or answer I like.

I like any ones blog post that has commented on mine.  So, I typically hit the like button and then leave a comment as well.

For others, it's when I like the post.  Though I must admit that I rarely read a post that I don't like!

I only hit like when the author has posted a comment and tagged me. The like is to let them know I did read. Now I only "like" if I do not comment or include a tag of my own. Same applies to 'upvote.'

I usually click on those posts of bloggers that I'm following/or who follow me. Usually, those would be the blogs I read mostly.

It's my pleasure to like and also share blog posts that have great informative content. I also enjoy reading stories that others take the time to share. The majority of posts have great content, it's hard to LIKE them all.

The "LIKE" button is like a virtual acknowledgement of approval. I find on places like Facebook, I am tending to "Like" less things just because if I do, it keeps that item refreshed in my feed.

Anna - I probably don't hit the like button enough on blog posts. I usually only click like if I really like the post, find it interesting, humorous, or learn something new.

However, I will comment on just about every blog post I read, and will like any comment that shows up on my posts.

If I agree with the comments or think it's ususually insightful, I hit the LIKE button.
