I'm not sure what the point of this is (no pun intended). If dormant members choose not to use their account why should we care? We are not the AR point police.

No it shouldn't be a penalty. Life gets in the way and so does work. Blogging should be fun and we all know the benefits and it isn't about the points. They shouldn't be called out or feel like they are being punished in my opinion.

I do not worry about whether people blog or log in or do not. .  If they are busy or have personal problems we should our understanding. It does not affect my SEO or google presence so it does not bother me.

I don't think there should be a penalty since people tend to get busy in other areas of their life/job at times.

There are people who are deceased that are still members.

The people who see the value of participating, are. Those that aren't appreciating AR, are not participating.

It's more productive to encourage participation than penalize non-participation. Wait until the next "Bubble" bursts and see who's dormant?

Not necessarily.  If the system could generate a gentle "nudge" that the person has not logged in, for say 20  days, then that may help.  There are always extenuating circumstances.  

I don't know that a penalty is in the spirit of the community.

There are thousands of accounts that appear to be abandoned.  I would say delete if unused for three years if they are not a Rainmaker actively paying.

It really doesn't make any difference to me one way or the other.

I do not feel the points should be the focus of AR. However, if a person has an account who does not participate for a year, they should be moved to inactive status.

Nope, I think that would be a bad idea.  Participation should be encouraged.  Penalties should be saved for spam, copyright violations, and robo-commenting.

I think that would be double jeopardy... they are already forfeiting 100 points for not logging in.

yes.... but there are members who read and comment but have never posted..... they should not be included....

Have not given it any thought; but don't think that would be necessary.

It's not something that concerns me so I don't consider it any kind of issue.  

I am not in favor of such action.  There are times that I just do not get back to it in a day.

That would be like FB or Twtr with people who have an account and tried once.

On Twitter I am never convinced it will work for me to get more real estate business.

I will assume you are asking becuase there is some folks ahead of you that are no longer active?   LOL     I have that problem in my area as well.  It can be frustrating but at least they aren't a moving target.   ;-)

This is a paid site.  If people pay they can do as they please.  I don't think Trulia will be refunding money any time soon.
