Yes, according to the Sellers, but in the end, it was them, who blamed the agent, but they removed the items, for insurance money. That was not fun!

Debbie Reynolds Fortunately, I have never had this happen. I always told my sellers to lock everything up to keep the honest people more honest.

Debbie Reynolds I always let sellers know to keep valuables in safe place. Fortunately, this has not happened to me, yet.

Oh boy yes, Debbie. Prescription drugs, narcotics. I was doing an open house and a couple came in and the male made nice and asked me stupid questions while the female went upstairs. The homeowner complained and it turned out they were going to almost every open house around. This was in the beginning of my career in Real Estate. Now I always ask the seller to remove guns, drugs money and jewelry.

Fortunately, not, Debbie. I suppose there's always the first tiime, but I also have all of my sellers sign off on a document prior to listing acknowledging that I suggested they remove/hide all valuables, firearms, prescription medicines, etc. while home is listed.

Hi Debbie - yes, a small Tiffany clock. After, the client said he remembered my words --- about small items that can be easily picked up.

Yes. Home sellers need to be alert and should secure valuables and medications. Security is a major concern that needs to be discussed when taking a listing.

Debbie, we have never had that happen but it is always a concern. We tell sellers to safely store their valuables and personal items-just in case.

Thankfully no, but have heard of it happening. I always advise sellers to tuck valuables away.

Yes.
Open house and one agent was hanging around and would not leave. Was lurking in the kitchen. I was distracted for a minute and he suddenly decided to leave. Later the home owner confessed their WAS a bottle of oxy in the cabinet.
Second time, at a well staffed open house, a visitor/shopper was able to make one of the "door prizes" go missing wich was displayed on conference table where everyones eyes was watching!

No thank goodness. But during the signing of documents to obtain the listing I warn them about keeping stuff in the open and to consider storing offsight.
I sold a listing recently where the closet looked like a jewelry store. I warned them numerous times that, although it probably won't happen, it COULD happen.
