Renee, yes and it does make all the difference in the world to stage a vacant home!

I have an investor client that buys houses to flip and she stages them with some furniture and curtains, etc. It helps her houses sell faster and not sit as long on the market.

I always recommend staging. I have found that staging will get the seller at least 30,000 more sale price here in Seattle. The difference is astounding. But I always use really good stagers also. That's not just me putting some towels and small items in a house.

Staging immediately sold a vacant listing on the market for 6 weeks. The problem was too many flooring types visible from front door of vacant home. Is was during the second visit when I observed the buyers stay at the front door incredibly long as they scanned left and right and left and right. Had I not be present, this observation could not be made. Solution, area rugs and visual interruption.
Staging solved a problem exhibited by the behavior of buyer. Had I not been present, this could not be noticed.
Buyers stood in two spaces of another house, puzzled how they would use this space. Staging suggested a use that fits the lifestyle embraced by the buyer and sold immediately.
I typically don't recommend staging for the sake of staging but to solve a problem. Sometimes the PROBLEM is a vacant home is very hard create decent photos. Other times it is the result of observed buyer feedback as noted in the two examples.

Renee,
We highly recommend staging to every home especially the vacant ones. Our clients always use stagers. One particular home we looked at with our client had Chinese pagoda architecture. When we walked in, it was beautifully put together with Chinese artifacts, and it felt comfortable and lived in. I asked our client if this was the sellers furnishings, his response was no, the stager did it. That house moved fast in a then slow market. A

Hi Renee,
Several agents who have a knack for finding just the fittings will go garage sale shopping and find the perfect items to furnish/stage a home. Some repurpose them for other homes that are vacant & non-furnished. Others sometimes sell the home with those furnishings found - raising the sales price a bit too! : )
