DAGGERS, Daggers, daggers.
Makes me crazy when "REALATOR" slips from the lips of a REALTOR!
Makes me want to say, "Are you for reala."

whenever I hear that my first thought is "why would a client work with that agent?"

I am not in the business, but correct people all the time. What is real stupid is what a Realtor pronounces it that way.

Roger -- good question and the answer for me is "it depends"
If the person using that word is working with me exclusively, is committed to either buying or selling with me and is able to do so --- they can call me whatever they want(within reason).
If the person pronouncing the word is a REALTOR that's rather irksome®.

Roger D. Mucci There is a commercial for an HGTV program where the person says if you hire her you don't need a relator. Cringe. . .

Ah, Roger, it makes crazy when people misuse the English language. So yes, that is crazy making...luckily, I have not heard many do that. A

Absolutely! In fact, there's an HGTV commercial playing a lot recently that's for the show "Fixer Upper" which I watch sometimes and I cringe every time the commercial plays because Joanna (one of the hosts) is a Realtor but clearly pronounces it Real-a-tor. Ugh!!! I feel like shouting "please represent us correctly!"

I understand why folks get picky but I have bigger things to worry about.
All I care about is they are calling me period!

Most of my family says that and after 16 years, I can't get them out of it.

For me watching HGTV is liking working 24 hours a day. I do not enjoy watching it and it is staged.

Realtors sell real estate, not "rela state".
Jewelers sell jewelry.
You don't hear jewelers saying "we sell julas"..

I know Relators that say Reelator. Who cares? I guess new agents and the NAR!

No. Whatever they call me. My name is constantly banded and twisted, so I probably got used to focus on more important things.

I hear realtors say reel-a-tour all the time. It can be annoying, but I have more important things to worry about.
