Yes lots of kindness. If I have the time I will ask why their day is not going well and let them get it off their chest. This usually gets them smiling and more relaxed.

There is no pleasing some people, I get that. Growing up on a farm I see it like that old saying "You can lead a horse to water..."
I know the horse needs water. Deep down even the horse understands it needs water. But as soon as I push its head into the water, they will resent me. It is a learning process, and it takes time to establish TRUST. It is like starting over with each new client I work with.
