Hi Annette.
I am glad you posted that again about Zillow. Some members at the Re/Max office of yours are amazing. For example John Dietz. Very professional!
I do not post as much here at Active Rain due to Zillow using our data for monetary gain. I post mostly on my self-hosted Wordpress blogs.
I do not buy any leads from them using MY listings that I worked so hard to get as I am a small independent brokerage. I was with Coldwell Banker in Clearwater and Tarpon Springs for seven years and every listing I get is a struggle only to have Zillow turn around and have the audacity to charge us for our data LOL
Thank you for pointing this out yet again.
To answer your question... yes. I try to learn one new thing every day irrelevant of the topic.

Annette, if you have something to say and share with the world, do it.
I would read it. I'm open to anything and willing to learn and use( if it works for the local market).

I hear a lot of real estate agents who say they're interested in learning something new. But when you read agent blogs and comments, you get a different picture altogether.
In general, I believe most of agents want to be lifelong learners, but are resistant to technology and many new ideas. In part, this is the fault of brokers who pressure their agents to use "tried-and-true methods" of prospecting, rather than experiment with anything that is relatively new.

Annette,
All our material that is real estate related is copyrighted on our blog. AR is an adjunct. I would suggest that you publish on your blog and bypass the AR platform. A

Ron & Alexandra Seigel from the Terms of use at the bottom of this page. I don't care to have Zillow Group sell to me what I provided them. Such a Open House guide would be GOLDEN.
BEGINNING OF TERMS OF USE EXCERPT
"For materials you post or otherwise provide to Zillow Group in connection with the Services (your "Submission"), you grant Zillow Group an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free worldwide license to (a) use, copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, reproduce, edit, modify, prepare derivative works of or incorporate into other works, and translate your Submission, in connection with the Services or in any other media, and (b) sublicense these rights, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Zillow Group will not pay you for your Submission or to exercise any rights related to your Submission set forth in the preceding sentence. Zillow Group may remove or modify your Submission at any time. For each Submission, you agree to provide accurate and complete information and represent that you have all rights necessary to grant Zillow Group the rights in this paragraph, that Zillow Group’s use of the Submission will not infringe any third party rights and that the Submission complies with Section 2(a) above. You are solely responsible for all Submissions made through your user account(s) on the Services or that you otherwise make available through the Services.
END OF TERMS OF USE EXCERPT
I know many real estate professionals have given in to the dark side, but that isn't what I intend to do.

I would absolutely love to learn some new approaches to the tasks we perform weekly. Technology has drastically changed the industry and how people do things. Many of the old ways don't work when they once did.
You can pubish material on google's blogger platorm, and reddit to name two...maybe even sumit it to one of the realtor manazines?

My first answer is I always want to learn someting new, and we make a point of it, every signle day. What I don't understand is your comment re: Zillow. How do they fit into this? Do you think they have the time to glean materials from these Q&A's and make someting of it? A

Lana Robbins Realtor ® Licensed Real Estate Broker Thank you for leaving a comment. Seems great minds think alike!
There is a story I like to tell about John D that created in me a great admiration.
At the awards dinner, the broker shares how much our REMAX office has donated the Children's Miracle Network, and the great work CMN is doing.
When John is called up to receive his award for accomplishment (sizable cash) he immediately handed it back to the broker and directed this be given to CMN. Because of John, a new spirit of passing it forward permeates the office.
John remembers this story only because I keep repeating it.
And you know, that is just the way John is wired.
Stay tuned. An opportunity to benefit from the open house goals will be presented in a new blog where email delivery will be possible. You WILL be interested in the New Listing goal.
