I submitted an offer yesterday and still hadn't heard any word back late today. I keep reaching out and have yet to hear a peep from the agent. Even a text would be acceptable to let me know he is working on it.

I always wonder what expectations of others are VS my own. I prefer same day, even better within a couple hours. I get people are busy, but I like at least an acknowledgement. Thanks for all the great answers.
Michael Jacobs I've been working on my own patience, it's a flaw of mine, too.

Hi John -- it depends. I'm not the most patient person(bad character trait for this business, I admit) but generally expect some type of response within a couple of hours and definitely by the end of the day. An acknowledgment -- received your question, working on it, will have an answer tomorrow is acceptable in my opinion.

I would think within 4 hours, or half a day would be fine. Unless I am at a showing and have a question or concern right then.

I can understand folks get busy, but communication to me is HUGE. Generally within a couple of hours.

My lender is very good, but he is not quick to return a call, I have learned to just stop by his office.

I would expect a competent professional would get back to me no later than the following morning.

John, I really like working with Agents that get back to me quickly and let me know when they've received my text, emails etc. Of course I do the same in return.

As you can see John, there are those with a good grasp on reality and those who are fully invested in instant gratification. These folks are work creators for others and accomplish little in addition to what others are able without the demanding.
What I expect is exactly what I deliver. Call my number and the expectation become crystal clear.
I won't measure my satisfaction by the nano-seconds that have passed but in the assurance you will respond according to your communicated schedule. If you over deliver, that will not be measured against you.
Now, when the transaction has reached the closing process and title and underwrting issues become mission critical....you must be quick to call. If I hear from the client about an issue BEFORE I hear from you, you can consider this your last race with me.

Depending on the situation, I expect a call back within a couple of hours, but definitely the same day. Unless, of course, I've reached out in the evening, then next day is fine. If it's an email, I expect a response within an hour or two.

Hello John. If I have sent them something requested or related to the transaction I like a quick response of 'got it' or 'received' so I can move on. If an answer is needed hopefully within 24 hours.

NOW! WITHIN MINUTES... At least text me with some sign of being present. I do it immediately and they all know that when they work with me. Unless, I am missing or dead, you will hear from me.

John Meussner - for offer, its 24 hours, and for most business queries - within few hours. However, if some additional work is needed than at least acknowledgment from them when they will get back to us.

I would like to hear back in an hour or two; of course, I like immediately, LOL, but that's not always possible. And, it depends on the question. On some things, the next day is fine.
If I am in a closing with a buyer that lender worked with, I hope the lender knows to be accessible by phone or text while I am in closing, in case questions arise. Of course, hopefully no questions arise during closing if we are all doing our jobs, but it can happen.
