AR could cease to exist on any day. I would not rely on them being around long term, and I would proceed as if it will close down in near future.

I sure hope that whatever happens, that Active Rain gets back its google juice!

I would think lots of Active Rain members would love to see Google buy Market Leader and AR. It would be a major love fest as AR members talk very reverently and positive about Google.

We now know what happened to ActiveRain and Market Leader. Zillow has moved on.

This leads to the question that if AR ceased to exist, what would happen to the content we've all worked so hard to build. There are too many unanswered questions and the future is uncertain.

Nothing is going to happen to ActiveRain, Scott Fogleman - members were worried when Trulia took over and now, Zillow took over Trulia! Things still are going to be the same.

I think that Jeff is close to reality. I DON'T trust Zillow to keep this site going. If someone else bought AR I think it would be GREAT...Could not be any worse. (I don't think)

Well, not so secretly, I do hope they sell AR. Trulia made AR a subdomain for SEO. SO each time we create contenent we are boosting Trulia's SEO. This is why I have not been very active on AR over the last year or so.

Nina Hollander If I recall correctly, AR was purchased by ML, then ML was purchased by Trulia, then Trulia was puchased by Zillow. Who is going to sell ML and ....

Active Rain is not a profit center.
If it was in your list of expenses, what would you do?
Market Leader? Would you buy 1990's technology and concepts? If Z is unable to create leveraged value in ML, that tells me they see the same thing I do.

Didn't Trulia buy ActiveRain, and Zillow buy Trulia? Soon they will become so large they will be ineffective and a new company will enter the fray I would suppose.

Darn, Scott... I wish I knew. I've been with ML for a long time. First Trulia buys them. Now they are being shopped. For now, I'm sitting back and watching. Not sure how closely AR is tied in with ML. I thought it was Trulia that bought AR, not ML. But my memory might be fuzzy at this point.
