My friends use me all the time and I have no problem at all and I treat it as a very confidential and profession relationship. I don't share any details about it even with my husband and the friends know it. Not all friends can work this way.

I've worked for friends and relatives as both buyer agent and listing agent. Personally, I think it's case by case, and that sales pitch was created by some real estate trainers years ago. To answer your question- No. It's rare when I go on a listing appointment where the seller is considering using a friend or relative.
