I wrote this article about it on Sunday, in case you missed it. It has some advice on how to handle. Lumber Liquidators Health Scare - The hot topic for my week.
I have had many people, esp realtors, ask me about this. I think it will come up more over time, esp as there are updates on the story. There is now a federal investigation on top of the class action lawsuit.

Bruce Walter - it's always a good idea to inform people we know about such things. It shows we care and helps keep us top of mind with them... win-win!

Debbie Gartner - thanks for the link to the post... I'd actually bookmarked it when you first posted it with the intention of reading it when I had a chance and just read it now. Good job! I definitely think this will become more of an issue with time and especially if the results of the federal investigation line up with what '60 Minutes' found.

Gabe Sanders - I think there's a possibility we may end up with an addendum that covers this topic just as we did with the defective (a.k.a. Chinese) drywall.

Hi Leanne --- California is a state with lots of seller disclosures along with lots of litigation. Due to the level of public awareness as well as my own -- it's a question that I am asking clients in light of the controversy.
So, to answer the question --- I would ask my sellers and then respond to any inquiry "according to the sellers....".

Leanne, I think it is too recent for us since the story broke. I am sure we will get those questions about the LL laminate flooring later this year. I just sent a post of an article about the 60 Minutes segment to a client who purchased a home and was in the market for new laminate flooring.

Michael Jacobs - I think that's a good way to go about it. Ask the sellers and then respond to inquiries with "According to the sellers...". If the seller has a receipt showing where the laminated wood flooring was purchased (assuming it wasn't at LL), even better.

Haven't yet, but I know it will be coming. And now, every laminate floor in the country is suspect.
