Doubtfully.

first, if it's glued, forget it. None of it can be reused. And, you will need to smoothout/pour the floor after as it will be uneven.

second, if it's floated, most likely the locking mechanism will break on many of the pieces (mabye 50%).  You can try it, but I wouldn't count on it working. I suppose if you have an extra 25% waste you might be able to make it work but you might need 50%.

Sybil - Most flooring is good...but the 2 I would stay away from are bamboo and virtually anything bought at Lumber liquidators.

Feel free to call me later in the week for advice - depends on what type of subfloor and what you are looking for.

We have been able to salvage some from a prior removal to do a much small area. Actually it was a hassle trying to be careful removing it and it was hardly worth it.

Debbie Gartner,  Oh I didn't know that, thanks for sharing.  There is a lumber liquidators near my house, I'm going to look there.  What specific flooring do you recommend?

You could try it and see how much is left.

BTW, I would highly recommend staying away from bamboo. It does not hold up well at all.

The Flooring Girl has some good insight into this.

We recycle a lot of hardwood flooring, but then we always go for the real hardwood floors.

Debbie Gartner, Michele Connors,

I am not looking at laminate flooring only the real hardwood, which is not linked to formaldehyde.

There was a big scare with Chinese Drywall years ago and Virginia was one of the areas affected.  We had to be very careful to disclose.

The 60 Minutes report about formaldehyde and non U.S. regulated materials was an eye opener. I am very careful with food proucts but this was a bit of a surprise ! ( Debbie Gartner above )

Happy to talk.  Call me on my cell.

Oh and somehow I was no longer following you.  Not sure how that happened but I just fixed it.  I remember Bliz saying something about that during the last update (that they were no longer following some people).  weird.

Debbie Gartner,  Thanks so much for your answer.  I just bought a new house and the tenants really abused it.  I don't like the hardwood and want to replace it with Bamboo.  I was hoping to salvage enough out of the 1400 square feet to give to my daughter to put in her downstairs which is probably about 600 to 700 square feet.  If she only does the foyer, living and dining room that is probably about 450 square feet or less.
