I've had coaches twice and discovered I'm not terribly "coachable." Too much of a rebel.

Cheryl, I did the coaching offerred by By Referral Only, and it just didn't work. But then I got a coach who is a really good businessman and just a natural coach. I went gangbusters. I'm about to contact him again. My advice? Don't use a "professional coach", rather a coach who is a professional at something other than coaching.

I have had two coaches through kw, both were great and helped to elevate my business.
My most recent one moved onto Georgia, now seeking a replacement.

Cheryl, we have not. One of our agents in the office did hire a coach, and they really like the advise and accountability that came with it to perform and take their business to the next level.

The best thing I ever did was to hire a coach. However, she was not a real estate coach. She was a "life coach". She wasn't there to spur me on to the "next level" (I so hate that phrase). She taught me to look at the big picture. Life. Where do I want to be? What do I have to do to get there, and believe it or not, what do I have to let go of to be there. This totally turned my business, and as a result, my life around.

The answers are very intersting. I'm glad to see that some people are not "coachable" because, I'm not at all!

Yes, I have benefited from coaching.
There are two types of coaching avaiable, business coaching and what I refer to as mindset coaching.
Both can prove extremely valuable......for those who are teachable.
If, when you hear familair words, your mind immediately says "I know" you may not be teachable. "I Know" prevents you from hearing the coach and as a result your action will be based on what you intended the coach to say.
The outcome for me was:
- Organzation and systems
- Process to identify and reduce counter-intentions

No, never hired or worked with one. I've gone to many seminars meeting coaches, but I was not impressed by their methods...

Very well said Patricia Kennedy.
One of my colleagues signed up for Tom Ferry coaching and I'd always tease him that I'd call him and tell him what to do for free.
A coach who is professional at something other than coaching makes more sense to me.

I have never hired a Real Estate Coach, but I would not be opposed to it if I needed information.

Cheryl Ritchie - working with Buffini and Company coach one-2-one for many years - and yes, it does help to stay focused!
Best lesson - I have done it and I can do it again!

Wow, that is a lot of questions. Yes I have hired a coach, I stayed with them for a year. I do many of the things I learned to do and am still doing them. Would I do it again? Yes, but a new coach with new to me ideas.
