I would like to use them to drop dollar bills at invitation only Grand Openings of new, small neighborhoods. The "Pennies from Heaven" theme didn't work out too well Douglas Trudeau .

1. Very carefully so as not to disturb any federal guidelines.
2. I think it would be fun to do aerial showings for all the out of town clients, shoot videos of the ski slopes and properties surrounding them. Then maybe some lake view commercials, explaining to people where the different communities around the lake are located. We always get asked "how far is the condo from the slopes" or "from the marina"...so a drone would help people visualize in addition to Maps and Google Earth. I also have a couple of land listings that are impassable in the winter, so a drone would be a good way to show people what's there before the thaw.
3. aerial video of clients moving in/house warming parties and send it to them as a gift.
4. I like Kevin J. May 's idea for grand openings!
Great question! Love it!

Use a drone in my business?
I would have a friend use a drone to get those house shots from the water.
I would have a freind use a drone to capture the drive up the the house.
I would have a friend use a drone to do the house fly-over to the waterside.
I would have a friend use a drone to get all the neighborhood dogs barking.

You listed a lake home and the approach with a drone to the rear of the structure at eye level and then up slowly to just clear the roof and look at all that lake front in your lap as drone climbs higher and shows woods, mountain, the sheer size of the lake your listing is on. Or flying in from descent over the middle of the lake to just clear structure with your drone and then edit the inside loop capture to start inside tour. The video aerials are the wrapper, don't just give your buyer the new toy round and round. You have to learn how to edit. Time is a wastin' ... get them inside! Talk to them one on one.

I have a drone, but I'm waiting to be able to use it. It would be good for long driveways or winding through the woods, or an overhead shot of of a large yard or old shaped properies. They would also be good for large homes with vaulted ceilings.

I would like to fly over subdivisions to highlight the neighborhood, maybe show how close it is to shopping and dining (if it is...) and cover local events.

Great for taking aerial videos and stills of a home, neighborhoods and other points of interest.

I would use it on my new neighborhoods from photography. I would also use it on highend listings to set them apart.

Douglas,
If you are using a drone make sure you are using an experienced person to do it. We have many cases of broken picture windows, wire cutting, and privacy. The drones can be effective on large tracts of land, where those hazards are few. A

Kristan, I used to produce those types of videos before last years FAA interpretation that prompted my petition. Now that I am legal, I will be heading back in that direction. That first listing for legal video/photography with an sUAS (drone) is in negotiation.

What goes up must come down and what about the liability of a drone malfunctioning? Seriously don't like the idea of 1000's of mechanical drones flying around.

That's funny Annette, especially the last one. So, this is a friend you like or who is not so liked?
