I used to have a lot of calls from Trulia, not anymore ( with all recent changes). During open houses I do ask people what they use to research area, the younger generation is using Red fin hoping for their rebates.

Naomi,
I can't speak for the general public, however, our friends are most likely to call someone they know for a referral, and the secondary move is to look on line for local agents, and then check out the aggregators. And I would do the same thing. A

Naomi Emmerson statistically they are now saying Zillow and Trulia have 40-50% of all Internet traffic eyeballs

I think they check everything, but of course, the most popular is Zillow and Redfin. They also have mobile apps that are really convenient to use when you are on the go.

Naomi, probably, they check Zillow, Trulia, and other sites before contacting an agent.

Naomi Emmerson all of them are good if you use it wisely and follow up with the leads generated from them.
My experience with the buyers is - they like Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com and Redfin App.

Naomi, I think they probably check in with more than one, and they may not find the agent they work with when they are on those websites.

I read a statistic that the overwhelming majority of buyers begin their search online. I'm not sure off the top of my head what the percentage was but it was pretty significant. As far as which site they use, I don't have an answer for that

Zillow is who I hear most about, but after trying to find homes in real life that they have found online they pretty much quit searching through them.

I find more and more clients are upset with both sites because of the poor information and inaccurate information. I try really hard to stay away form any 3rd party that uses my listing ro try and steal away clients and then sell me the leads back.

I don't think they are going for an agent on Trulia or Zillow or Redfin, I think they "look" there to get acclimated to the market though, sadly, only to find out that a lot of that information is inaccurate or incomplete.

I get more email inquires from Zillow, followed next by Redfin, then Trulia, then others. Many peopel do like to do their own research even if they plan on using an agent when they're ready to get serious.
