Being fairly new to Active Rain, I can't say I would feel guilty. I use blogging, asking questions and making comments on AR for informational and educational purposes.  If you are trying to get leads and educate the public with your blogs, I don't think anyone should feel guilty or apologize.

Yes, at times I do, esp on the commenting. I'm away now so not doing the normal amount of either, but I don't really care.  I feel more guilty for not commenting.  But oh well...there is only so much I can do.

It seems you may be suffering from counter intentions.

This condition manifests itself in other ways which we have all observed or modeled. When you place a meal on the table and receive a compliment, do you point out all the things that went wrong, "it's to dry,' 'wrong cut,' 'pasta over cooked," 'coals too hot/cold,: etc.

Instead of saying 'thank you' we rise to the counter intention.

Relieve your self of the need to express your internal guilt, and simply add your life to those around you. That is all anyone really wants, and it is very important you accept this and simply relax and enjoy your life. 

Another way this is exhibited by those who have a 'stay in touch' burden is when calling your dear friend, you start with, "I've been meaning to call you but could not find the time."  Is the call about your dear friend or you?

Be your real self, unapologetic. Bring your full self in all your glory. Celebrate all that you are.....no appologies accepted or needed.....as long are you are being all of you.

Yes I do sometimes, but when and if I explain, everyone is very understanding.

I don't feel guilty if I can't reciprocate with comments the same day, but always try the following couple of days to play "catch-up"...

Debbie, I used to feel guilty, especially when I saw people like yourself on there day after day after day! But I never apologized for being absent. And I've worked very hard on not feeling guilty--life does sometimes just get in the way and gulty feelings don't accomplishe anything in the end.

No. i think everyone that blogs knows there is only so much time they can devote to blogging/commenting, and many bloggers that try to do too much get burned out and end up taking 1-2 months or more off from blogging. Everyone needs to set a pace they can live with.

Well, it is not easy to find near 2 hours/ a day for blogging/commenting. It is a huge challenge for me....

I have internal guilt. Although I haven't missed writing a post in an extremely long time, I did miss making all of my comments on my regular people about a week ago. I had a friend visiting, and I just didn't have time for the comments. I did feel guilty within myself, but I told myself to get over it. And I did. 

YES! It is a daily routine and unless I have completed it I feel like I am letting myself down and not doing my job.

@Debbie Reynolds I have not allowed that situation - even when I am out-of-town, I have my tablet/laptop/ipad with me and I make it a point to spend at least an hour on ActiveRain - every day!

Absolutely, even posting late in the day when I am a morning poster.    I know I like to comment on my regular bloggers, and is different when they do not post until late in the day.

Regrets when I think it's in the way.  We are busy and we don't need to apologize for being busy. 

Sadly, I have become a compulsive blogger and have tried very hard to reciprocate with comments.

This has to change and I have begun a reduction of activities. However, no announcements are needed and there is no need for regret. I have made my contributions and it is time to move on to other interests. 

It is very nice to receive regular comments from a loyal core group of members but my ActiveRain blogs are not a successful avenue for internet exposure.

I feel like I want a even playing field. For me, that means reciprocation ... at least commenting on members posts who have commented on mine. There are times when I just can't get them all.

 Of course I feel guilty when I don't do my blogs or comment.  I find myself staying up long after midnight so I don't have to feel that way.

I always felt guilty when I would "disappear" for a while, Debbie.  But, i took your advice and now have posts scheduled for days in advance.  Now, it is just trying to keep up with comments, which is a great problem to have!
