JJ,

You may want to join the You Tube Thursday group, and check out Debb Janes  post.  She is very savvy on the subject, and her videos are superb, and she has got a great narration voice.  All these answers are on her posts on the subject. A

I like Tour Factory. I think they do a nice job. I pay $30 a month so I have unlimited videos but they have other plans as well. I also have the photographer do a video for YouTube when he takes the photos.

Debb Janes is a great person to follow as she does a lot of video.  I don't (yet) but I know a lot of people use animoto.

BUT, I think it depends on types of videos you want to do (e.g. show picts/make them move, shoot video, edit, etc).  I think it's a good question to ask here, but I agree that you need to think about your objectives.

The tools most appropriate for you to use requires greater definition of 'making video of my listings.'

It is incumbent upon you to understand the PURPOSE of the video as well as your distribution portals. (if you are simply showing the house, it does not move, you don't need a media that captures movement)

Of GREATEST concern, regardless of the previous answers, is the creation of the original/source material. If the source imagery is of less quality, that is not a show stopper, but is a challenge.

What is the most important component of any video/movie? Do you know?

AUDIO!!!  (images are easy. Sound is hard) Viewers eyes can be fooled, there ears, not so.

Are you intending to create audio on site, voice over, dubbing, or install a sound track (music)?  Will you create and follow a story board? Do you know the effort and time that will be required to creatate that memorable home video?

A well done, video with source sound and 10 seconds or less cuts will involve one hour per minute of time. Bench rate is approximately $80/hr.

Do you have an equipment budget?
Blending, fading, capturing and cotrolling source sound will require more equipement.

It is possible your intent is to use your SLR to create the imagery, augment that with good wide angle photography add the titles, text, effects and transitions with Window Movie Maker and use YouTube editor for the rest.

You will find the defination of "GOOD PRESENTATION' is dependant soley on your intent. You don't need to be Hollywood, but you can't be doing the cellphone fog and tin can sound either.

If you want to do this right, as though your business depended on it, I have other resources not mentioned in this response, that are SERIOUS about making you a real publisher of shock and awe presentations. (shock and awe is pertaining to the response you want, not the glizt of the production)
