Don't go on the Natchez dinner cruise. Food does not live up to the cost of the meal.

Lise, since your here go where the locals go. DEANIES Seafood Restaurant in Lakeview. Short cab ride from the French Quarter. It's maybe 10 minutes depends on the traffic. Also, I recommend Ruth's Chris Streak House, I will be at the Metairie location @5PM on Friday. If your there say Hello. Mulates Cajun Restaurant in the CBD is great. Good Food and good Cajun Music. Give me a call if you like. Enjoy My favorite City in the World. Where ever you go ask for some Crawfish. There a little small but in a Few weeks they will be perfect. BTW today is the official kick off of Mardi Gras 2015. There will be special parties all over town. ENJOY! Welcome to N'awlins Darlin.

Beignets from Cafe du Monde are wonderful. Lots of Jazz. Love the french quarter! Have fun and enjoy time with your daughter.

Look at the old vintage Real estate. There are beautiful Victorian properties still standing that are historical landmarks.

Have a wonderful time, Lise. I used to like visiting Jackson Square and the surrounding areas.

Not a Bourbon Street fan. On the obvious side of food Commanders Palace is consistently good. If you want to get out of the Bourbon Street tourist crap go eat in the Garden District. I recommend Lilette's, a french bistro, and Salu, a crazy good tapas restaurant. Avoid the Acme Oyster bar where some of their oysters come from Texas and has become a tourist trap and go to Casamentos which is terrific for oysters and more. Do not miss the mansions on St Charles Ave and a guided tour would be a good idea.

Some of the ghost tours are fun. And the food is great so try lots of famous places. We toured the parade float area and that was fun. The walking tour of the Garden District has lots of history and the architecture is amazing.

Copeland's of New Orleans is good and not horridly expensive. Cafe du Monde at Jackson Square is a MUST. A MUST.

Follow Alexandra's lead --- FOOD! Beignets from Cafe du Monde after a historic dinner at Galatoire's. Be prepared to wait in both places.
Also the lovely and expensive Commander's Palace in the Garden District.
Have fun!

Eat at Irene's Cuisine for great Italian in the French Quarter. Shop and walk on Royal and Canal Streets, the Mississipi Canal. Get some history on the St Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square from a tour or visitor guide. Visit the Garden District and Streetcar to view great homes and neighborhood. Take a swamp (Alligator) tour outside of town to get a feel for natural Louisiana.
Enjoy! I love New Orleans!!!

Eat anywhere and enjoy the music. Ask the waiters where they go to eat for some good local suggestions.

Lisa,
I would be in Foodie Heaven from beignets to all types of seafood. They have the best crab from Lake Pontchartrain. We get it fresh here, and it makes for the best crabcakes...we loved the French Quarter, the music. Have not been there recently, so I cannot recommend restaurants. Trip adviser is great on that count. A
