How important is an Active Rain user name? I was thinking about changing my user name to reflect my personal brand & I'm new in active rain. I understand that changing my name would negate SEO.

You can change your active rain name if you contact support. I was thinking about changing it to my personal brand - RVAHomePRO - instead of - Hottman - (my last name).

and as Cindy Jones noted... I wonder if it would help with SEO - if i lose some SEO by switching it now I don't anticipate that would be much of a loss since I've only been blogging since Sept

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any function in AR that allows us to change our user name. I signed up long before I realized the importance of all those pesky details that add to your SEO.
