Born and raised in the Kansas City area, my husband and I moved to Chicago while working for a national retail company - Montgomery Ward. We both spent our entire careers focused on customer service. When the end of the company was inevitable we decided to take a whole new approach and move to Arizona. We chose Lake Havasu for its beautiful lake and mountains, small city atmosphere and the fact that my Mother had retired here.
My Mother sold real estate in Kansas City for 25 years and I always knew that was something that interested me. So, within weeks of arriving here in 1999 I worked towards getting my license. But just spending 90 hours in class and passing a couple of tests really doesn't prepare you for this business. I've spent the time, energy and money to take as many advanced classes as possible. I currently have my Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS)< Internet Professional (e-PRO), Graduate of Real Estate Institute (GRI), Professional Management Network (PMN) and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designations. I routinely take twice as many continuing education classes as the law requires so I can have the latest, most accurate knowledge in order to service my clients' best interests.
In addition I serve on our local Association's Board of Directors and have been actively involved in the Women's Council of Realtors(R) at both local and state leadership levels. In order to be more effective as agents for our clients we need to be involved in our real estate community and our home towns. I also feel a duty to give back to my community by being involved in volunteering at the local elementary school or as the Special Olympics Swimming Coach for 10 years.
All of these activities enhance my ability to best serve my client's needs - whether they are buying or selling one of the biggest investments in their lives
Lake Havasu City is small enough that we become well acquainted with most sectors of the market. At the beginning of my real estate career I decided to only work with residential properties. That includes condos, townhomes, mobile homes, single family homes and up to 4 unit multi-family properties.
Over the years I've worked with first time buyers as well as the multitude of clients who are looking for vacation and/or retirement homes. This is such a wonderful place for part time owners. Our very mild winters draw clients from the northern states and Canada (often fondly referred to as snowbirds) looking for things to do that don't require a parka! Summers bring our boating friends primarily from Southern California who are looking for a clean air weekend getaway on our wonderful lake.
Our sellers deserve the same skill and attention to detail that we provide our buyers. My knowledge of this market allows me to give the best guidance and assistance in pricing, staging and marketing properties to get their property sold.
I'm a firm believer that you should not try to work outside your area of expertise. So, if my clients need help with properties outside the city I will help them find the right Realtor (R). With my involvement in Realtor (r) organizations at the local, state and national levels I can refer my client to the best agent to help them. It's the same if they want to invest in commercial real estate or property management. Those are specialized fields that require specialized training.
