HOW DID IT HAPPEN?--Did you ever wonder how you really got started on your real estate career path?  I have recently traced what I believe are my roots .  It may have started for me when I was just 14 years old.  A 1948 movie, "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House", starring Cary Grant, and "George Washington Slept Here", a 1942 movie starring Jack Benny, were two similar movies about city dwellers that bought fixer-uppers in the country.  The movies trace the trials and tribulations of fixing up an old house.  In fact, "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" was the prototype for "The Money Pit" with Tom Hanks.  As a kid, I just loved these old movies.

At about the same time, I discovered "This House for Sale", a monthly article in Yankee Magazine.  The editor would "mosey" around New England looking for unique homes with historic roots or handy man specials for his article. For many years, I would pick up Yankee, read this article and dream.

I took woodwork classes in high school, studied building construction at Wentworth Institute in Boston, and earned a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Maine.  After an 11 year stint with a multi-national construction company, I moved to Lincoln, as the property manager at Loon Mountain, and did remodeling and building maintenance for homeowners, among other things.

In 1983, by accident or divine guidance, I got involved with selling real estate and ultimately purchased LinWood Real Estate.   Selling real estate, I now believe, is something I was born to do.  It is my passion.  Whether it is a $20,000 quarter share or a $2 million home, the desire to market and sell the property, and the sense of satisfaction in accomplishing the goal, is the same. Over the past 26 years, we have helped numerous homeowners, not only purchase, but also rent for income, repair, maintain, remodel, design and build homes in the area.

In October 2005, we made the move to become a Coldwell Banker franchise.  We are still independently owned and operated only now we're part of the Coldwell Banker family.  The franchise opportunity seemed like the next logical progression as we strive to be the best and improve the level of service to our clients and customers.  Coldwell Banker celebrated its 100th  anniversary in 2006.  It is the oldest brand named real estate company in the United States.  It was built on a foundation of honesty, integrity, hard work and passion.  The Coldwell Banker story is one that parallels the LinWood Real Estate story and one I take very seriously.  In 2010 we mergered with Coldwell Banker Covey Realtors of Littleton, New Hampshire, a 37 eyar old company with an excellent reputation of customer service.  We now represent properties in 22 New Hampshire Towns covering Mountains, Lakes, Vacation Homes, Primary Homes, Land and Commercial properties.

We want to thank the many clients and customers who have allowed us to share our passion with them.  We look forward to sharing our passion with you in 2011 and for many years to come.
