How do YOU like to locate property? If you are going to drive around looking at houses with a Realtor, do you want to spend time with someone who really knows her stuff but lightens things up with a little humor? 

Assuredly, buying and selling homes is a major investment.  But, it doesn't hurt to pepper the banter with a little lightheartedness, does it?  One of my favorite past times is watching the agents on the tv shows who drag their clients from room to room pointing out the obvious. For example, "This is the bathroom, this is the kitchen", etc Yawn yawn..... In some ways, the physical aspect of selling real estate is easy. We drive from home to home in what is, hopefully, a clean vehicle.

Also, it helps to have the talent of being able to drive and talk at the same time.  But, the real gift of this job is the ability to simply put myself in my client's shoes and look at things from their perspective.  One of the most underused, but highly important phrases a Realtor can ask is simply, "What do you need?" It's amazing how that simple question gets solutions to problems.


I am a Realtor in the South Bay portion of Los Angeles bordered by the 405 (San Diego) Freeway on the east, the Los Angeles International Airport on the north, the Los Angeles Harbor on the South and the Pacific Ocean on the West.  That area encompasses the following cities:  Palos Verdes Peninsula, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, San Pedro, Torrance, Redondo Beach, Hollywood Riviera, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and some portions of Gardena. 

My daughter, Rachel Tyndall joined me in 2003, and together we work with first time buyers, move up buyers, empty nesters, retirees, divorcees, widows and widowers, children of past clients, and just about everyone else. We have a strong referral base from clients who tell their friends about us.  It is so satisfying to get a call from someone in our past who tells us their best friend is looking for an agent and they thought of us! Our clients really feel secure knowing there is always one of us around to answer their questions and take care of their needs.

Dear Kathy and Rachel, I’m writing to you to thank you for handling the sale of our home and the purchase of two others with finesse, flexibility and broad understanding of real estate law and marketing trends. They say the hardest business transactions involve the combination of an attorney and an engineer. I imagine, however, it is even more difficult if that couple is dealing with a forced sale resulting from a divorce. Coupled with the fact that we had different priorities, were not in agreement most of the time, and had trouble dealing with each other, you two were remarkable. You negotiated away each objection resulting from individual peccadilloes, often to your own detriment. You were remarkably upbeat neutralizing difficulties with a joke or an irreverent comment while maintaining an air of impartiality necessary to make up both feel comfortable. You did an outstanding job of closing with difficult buyers and sellers in a tough market, piecing together a deal that seemed impossible to negotiate. I have learned from you that the most important marketing skills are exhibited at the end, not the beginning of the sale. As an attorney, I know that many contracts fall apart over the minutia that arise after the agreement is signed. You both have a true skill at removing objections one by one and actually closing an impossible deal. I have learned that a realtor needs much more than outstanding knowledge of real estate, law, finance, marketing, taxes, insurance, home repair, multiple ethnic cultural acumen and a good car, all of which you two possess. She needs to be a psychologist capable of handling whatever personal barriers that may arise. As far as I am concerned, you two have earned your “Shrink PhDs”. Even after everything was closed and finished, you showed up with flowers for me on Valentine’s Day, the most valuable and empathetic gift anyone could have given me. Thank you for everything.

Kathy and Rachel always do a great job. They are thorough, professional, and creative. They always go beyond the expected in the service they offer, even visiting the house regularly to cut the roses and check the water levels in the pool and fountain.
