Get to Know Stephen Stanczyk

Stephen Stanczyk, owner / inspector of Safe Haven Home Inspections is Washington State Licensed Home Inspector #221.  Safe Haven Inspections is a locally owned and operated inspection business that is based out of Pierce County, Washington.  A quality and timely inspection is a major key in maintaining the reputation that Safe Haven Home Inspections has worked years to build and maintain.

While based out of Pierce County, I inspect throughout Western Washington at the same price and fee structure.  If you have an inspection need, I can usually arrange a 24 hour turn-around.  If you have any questions or would like to book an inspection, I am available at 253 241-0602 from 8:00am to 10:00pm, daily.

I founded Safe Haven Home Inspections after decades of remodeling and upgrading single-family homes.  I have worked on every major component of a house while installing or repairing them for a family enterprise.   From sweating pipes to pulling wire, installing drywall to hardwood floors, it has been a hands-on learning experience that allowed me to develop my expertise in residential construction and inspection.

The inspection business is an ever-changing industry.  Building materials and methods of construction are evolving on a regular basis.  In order to stay abreast with the latest materials and methods, I regularly attend continuing education classes, whether it is for information on carpenter ants or plumbing, roofing or the newest electrical components.

I normally limit myself to a single client per day.  Trying to rush through numerous inspections in a single day does not allow me to spend the personal time with my client that they deserve.  It also makes it easier for a client to schedule their personal matters knowing that I will be there on their schedule.  After all, they are paying for the inspection.  I only have one requirement for scheduling.  That is the need for at least 2 hours of daylight during the inspection.

I will issue a report usually on the same day as the inspection.  The report is sent via email to the client.  It is a full report with all the information necessary to make an educated decision on the property.   The report is also available for viewing on my website and is password protected.   If there are any questions the client has, I will gladly discuss them to their satisfaction.  I will take business calls until 10:00pm nightly.

Certifications

I attended and am certified by ITA (Inspection Training Associates) one of the largest and most respected Home Inspector Training Companies in the country and run by Kaplan University.

I have taken the National Home Inspector Examination and hold Washington State Home Inspectors License #221.   The Home Inspector License requires continuing education classes prior to renewal of your license.  .  Remember to ask your inspector for his Home Inspector License number.  Mine is listed.

I am a member of NACHI, the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors and have passed their rigorous testing and continuing education requirements.  There are many home inspection associations throughout the United States.  To be honest, they are no different than political parties.  They don’t like each other.  They disagree on just about everything.  They will almost always talk bad about the “other” organization.  Quite frankly, I don’t care.  I go about my business working for my client to the best of my abilities.  I don’t care to join in with the name calling and bad-mouthing.

I follow the Standards of Practice as required by the State of Washington.  (WAC 308 408C)
