What is a higher education professional doing on a real estate blogging network like Activerain, you may ask.   Okay, fair enough...

Higher education opportunities are often a high priority for home buyers, and this blog will add to your knowledge about higher education issues across the nation.  The next time a home buyer mentions that they have children in high school, perhaps you'll be better prepared to address their concerns about their children's future educational opportunities.

I'll be sharing with you news and information about higher education institutions and state systems, greek organizations, development (funding) and legislative issues.   And I'll answer your questions promptly on any higher-education topic.  If I don't know the answer, I'll find someone for you who does.

As the Senior Director of Operations for The Center for Learning, Living and Leading in Arlington, Texas, I helped build this non-profit foundation from the ground up.  Working closely with the Center's Board of Directors and the Executive Office of Delta Delta Delta Fraternity, I lead the Center in obtaining its non-profit status and then creating housing campaigns for 24 chapters located around the country - 600% growth during my two years here.  And we're still growing!

Reflections, the Center's primary educational program based on a study by Dr. Carolyn Becker, Ph.D., has grown exponentially to become a highly visible movement aimed at eating disorders - due, at least in part, to our highly agressive social media campaign.  We developed a syllabus and training program for student leaders to teach their peers - in their chapters, their Greek systems, and on their campuses - the frightening statistics about eating disorders and how students can help by becoming "Fat Talk Free."

Meanwhile, I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Higher Education Policy and Leadership Program at The University of Maryland College Park, with all coursework complete and a dissertation in progress.  Someday soon, perhaps you'll be calling me "Dr. Woda."
