Processing short sales has equated to some of the best and worst times of my professional career. What is it about short sales that keeps me coming back? Do I enjoy the frustration, the seemingly constant disappointment, or grueling phone calls with lender customer service representatives? I would like to think that's not the case, rather the satisfaction I get from helping a homeowner avoid foreclosure is unmatched. It's easy to get addicted to helping people!
I have been processing short sales for real estate agents for nearly 3 years. I have been involved in nearly 300 short sale closings over that time and trained thousands of agents how to do it on their own. I am currently working with Distressed Property Consultants (DPC) as a company Vice President and Account Manager and own Saving Homes Today, a short sale education platform. I also author a blog called Short Sale Asylum which delves into the darker side of short sales: be careful, you might smile about short sales if you visit the asylum.
Saving Homes Today has joined forces with a unique variety of short sale processors and real estate brokers to provide the best education platform on distressed properties for real estate agents. Recently, Saving Homes Today began writing education for the launch of the highly anticipated Short Sale Association of America which should be released to the public sometime in November 2010.
I can speak intelligently about most real estate topics including bank-owned properties, investing, conventional home-selling, etc. but my expertise is in processing short sales. Success in short sales is found somewhere between persistence and patience! If more real estate agents and third party processors understood that concept, we would all be closing more short sales.
I love hearing more about your short sale experiences. I've been writing tons of educational pieces packed full with your stories and successes. Hope to hear from you soon!
