The Law Offices of Fred V. Peet, P.C. assists buyers and sellers of real estate as well as mortgage lenders throughout the State of Vermont. The firm consists of five experienced attorneys who combine their knowledge of Vermont real estate law with the responsiveness and attention to detail that real estate transactions require. The mission of the firm is to provide professional legal advice while moving transactions forward in a timely and cost effective manner. The firm performs title searches, closings and related real estate services throughout the State of Vermont. We handle title insurance as an agents for Vermont Attorneys' Title Corporation, Stewart Title Guaranty Company and First American Title Insurance Company.
Richard C. Maxson is the oldest of three children. He is a Vermont native and was raised in South Burlington. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science in 1987 from Arizona State University.
Richard attended California Western School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1993. Throughout his second and third years of law school, he clerked for the litigation firm of Larrabee & Loadman in downtown San Diego. After his admission to the bar, Richard joined the insurance defense firm of McMennamin & Bennett, in-house counsel for Cigna Insurance, handling mostly personal injury cases.
In 1997 Richard was admitted to the bar in Vermont, and opened an office in South Burlington. Most of his practice centered around criminal defense, real estate, and landlord tenant issues. He joined the Law Offices of Fred V. Peet, P.C. in 1998. Richard is an agent for Vermont Attorneys Title Corporation and is a member of the Vermont Bar Association.
Richard and his wife Dawn have two children and reside in the Town of Shelburne, Vermont.
