Get to Know John Ford

I have been selling REO properties since 1991, after 21 years of service with the Albany Police department where I received the "Medal of Valor". In the last 3 years I have closed well over 400 transactions with a dollar volume of over 90 Million. My areas of service are Solano, Contra Costa and Northern Alameda counties (Zip codes are available upon request) Striving to do the best job for my clients and to stay ahead in a very competitive field, I serve as a Director on the West Contra Costa County Board of Realtors and a consultant on the REO Task Force Committee. In addition, I have created a full-time team of professionals to facilitate efficiency, accessibility and communication with my clients. We make a conscious effort to receive each call personally, rather than voicemail, so that someone can answer your questions or direct you to someone who can.

Certifications

My team consists of several departments related to the REO experience. This encourages each member of the team to focus on their individual responsibilities and expertise allowing for better communication with the client. The team departments include; Accounting (Utilities, HOA, invoices and reimbursements), Pre-Marketing (researching comparables, data entry, ordering of inspections and answering the phones), Closing/Tracking Agent (monitoring all facets of the escrow process and acting as the liaison to the asset manager, escrow officer, lender and selling agent), and Buyers Agent (showing and selling our properties).

Having a team of professionals in place allows me to monitor the properties from start to finish. In the office; I delegate and oversee all individual and team assignments, approve comparables, add comments and pricing to BPOs and MMRs, negotiate offers and counteroffers. In the field; I will check occupancy, negotiate cash for keys, take photos, re-key and install lockboxes, assess properties need for de-trash, rehab or local compliance inspections, and continual personal inspection of properties in an effort to maintain security.
