web Livingston County Real Estate by Bob Smith |
I'm an active member of the Livingston County Association of Realtors, previously serving on the Board of Directors. Past Chair of the Member Services Ctte, and past member of the Standard Forms, Technology and Strategic Planning Cttes. I won the Association's Volunteer of the Year Award in 2004 for service to the community and to the Association.
I been licensed since December 1997, received my ABR in 2000 and have completed two of the four CCIM classes. I like exploring new uses of technology to benefit my clients and customers although I realize it doesn't take the place of good marketing, advertising, customer service, and yes - common sense. I am a Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES), too.
Prior to becoming licensed, I was a residential landlord with seven units, so I understand the goals of investors, as well as the benefits and pitfalls of investment property. I currently have an interest in an agent-owned LLC that specializes in commercial properties.
My mission is to help every person I work with to achieve their particular Real Estate goals.
A Past-President and served on the Board of Directors of the Brighton Optimist Club from 2005-present, I approach life and business in an Optimistic way, too. There are opportunities in every personal or business setback. The Optimist Club has given me another way to give back to the community. I was elected to Lt. Governor of the Michigan District Optimists in the 2009-2010 year and then re-elected for the 2010-2011 year. I was selected as the 'Michigan District Optimist of the Year' for the 2009-2010 year, a District with over 3500 members and over 100 individual clubs. I have served as the District's Convention and Meeting Chair, organizing quarterly meetings open to over 3,000 members and as the Personal Growth and Involvement chair for two terms, also.
I am an avid fisherman who especially loves fly fishing and fly tying - but ask me to go out with a cane pole and a bobber and I'll say "yes!".
As a former avid runner I also try to give back to the sport by helping on some local races. I was on the year-round staff (unpaid) of the Detroit Free Press Marathon from 2001 through 2008; a director of the local running club; and a staff member for the Northville Solstice Run and the Kensington Challenge until 2008. I can no longer run because of a bad back, but I walk and work out at the gym. Member of The Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce, the Howell Chamber of Commerce and am a past member of the Huron River Watershed Council. If I had any extra time at all, I'd probably join another Community Service Group.
Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES); I have a solid base in residential Real Estate and in vacant land sales. I especially enjoy helping first-time buyers make the transition into a home, but it's also been quite gratifying to watch their families grow and help them into a larger home when the time is right. I have experience with income properties, lake properties, new construction and condominiums. I completed the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) course in 2000.
I attain over and above the State-mandated continuing education hours every year. Real estate regulations and practices are constantly changing and no matter how many hours you devote to your professional education, you'll never know everything. But I try!
About three years ago I decided to concentrate on what I consider my 'home' market area - Livingston, Oakland and Washtenaw Counties, although I selectively work other areas, too. I refer business in other communities to agents who are as knowledgable about their market area as I am about my own. I believe that consumers deserve the best service possible.

You are by far the most professional, hard working, honest, straight forward Realtor we have ever had the pleasure to work with. You truly showed us you worked for us to help make us happy buyer's, and seller's and seller's again. Any chance of you moving to the Murfreesboro area soon? We are trying to buy a house. |
