Get to Know Michael Pallares

From newspaper journalist to radio talk show host, Michael's career path over the past 30 years has been varied to say the least.  Yet one thread throughout his professional history has remained unwavering: his ability to communicate clearly, honestly and consistently with his audience and clients.  Born in Caracas and raised in Florida, Michael's last relocation was from Atlanta to Boston in 1987 when he became an executive with Talbot's Catalog Development Group.Since then he has worked in the field of Creative Services Management for various firms including his last corporate placement as Vice President of Creative Services for MFS Investment Management in Back Bay.  His passion for writing and marketing, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, ultimately led him back to writing (as a freelancer for various publications) and into the world of broadcasting as host of two radio and cable access programs: "Open House" and "The Living Room."

In 2003 he was persuaded to try his hand at real estate sales in order to combine his marketing savvy and personable nature in an entirely new field. He worked for seven years at Metro Realty Corp. in Brookline in his role as both a Realtor and the agency's Sales and Marketing Manager just prior to joining Hammond Residential Real Estate as Senior Sales Associate in 2010. In mid 2012, he took another step in his career growth by joining Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Boston as Senior Sales Associate & Certified Relocation Specialist. In 2014, he joined Keller Williams Realty in their Brookline office and in the summer of 2016, he joined Andrew Mitchell & Company.

As an extension of his desire to connect with his community, Michael has also previously served as a board member for Community Care Services, one of the largest non-profit service agencies in Massachusetts, as well as becoming a Certified Berlitz Language Instructor in 2009.

Over the years my wife and I have bought and sold seven properties therefore we have some extensive experience with real estate professionals. Michael just helped us with a house sale in Dedham, Massachusetts. I have no doubt at all in saying that Michael Pallares is by far the best we have ever worked with! He is outstanding!! Michael is very thorough and professional and willing to work very long hours in order to make the purchase and sale process as smooth and as pleasant as possible. He is scrupulously honest and treats both buyer and seller with the utmost respect. He is knowledgeable and he is informative. I trust him completely. Buying or selling a home can be a difficult process. Michael will always invest extra efforts to make it as agreeable and fruitful as possible. I have no hesitation in giving him my strongest possible recommendation. I can think of no better real estate professional!

We had a great experience with Michael! He came to our house, worked with us through the very busy Christmas holiday season, even touched base while we were on vacation. The best part was Michael also came with a fabulous network of other professionals. We used every one he referred and they were all affordable, sometimes cheaper then our friends recommendations, and worked great with us. It was lisk we had a whole team on our closing day, they all knew each other and in turn worked together more efficiently. We bought our first house from first viewing to move in day in under 2 months without any hiccups or problems thanks all to Michael! I loved every moment of being a first time home buyer because I knew Michael had our backs and he has done this a thousand times! Thanks Michael!

Well, we wanted to wait until the deal was complete before we wrote Michael’s recommendation. And here we are, in our new house, in our fantastic new neighborhood, surrounded by newly painted walls and boxes waiting to be unpacked only a couple of months after my wife and I first met with Michael. My wife and her grandmother purchased the house, which meant that Michael spent a significant amount of time on the phone with grandparents in Florida; essentially he had the task of working with two sets of buyers, one of which was unfamiliar with the current landscape of Boston Real Estate. He jumped right in to that task and was able to discern information from family with an as of yet unattainable degree of clarity. For our first meeting with Michael, he clearly explained the entire process of buying a house from search, offer, and inspection to closing. As first time home buyers, we were grateful to have the rather involved process spelled out for us. Thus began the online MLS searching through his Coldwell page (gohomewithmichael.com). “Michael, I found the perfect house” “No wait, scratch that, this is the one” “Forget what I was talking about before, this one over here is it!” His patience was monk-like. One ‘as-is’ listing popped up with an open house on a Sunday that we really liked. Michael said it wasn’t worth the trip, but we went to go and see it anyways. We called him from the open-house “You were wrong, it’s perfect,” we exclaimed. He sighed a heavy sigh and proceeded to tell us the reasons we didn’t want it, all the while being sensitive to not crushing our (semi) youthful hopes and dreams. You have to admire a man in sales who talks you out of a purchase. Later that day we met him at private viewing of a different multi-family we had seen online. He was excited about this house for us. So much so, that when he arrived to meet us he was still wearing his hospital bracelet- he had checked himself out in order to show us the house. This is not necessarily an approach I would ever recommend but his dedication was admirable. And he was right about the house. I’ll skim through the next part as this recommendation is becoming a bit wordy, but suffice to say Michael guided us through the bidding process, had recommendations for anyone that we might need (home inspector, lender, closing lawyer, etc). There were many last minute parts of various deadlines for which he was able to pull all the pieces together, and he was available by email or phone pretty much 24/7. Michael could improve his service a little bit by coming over and helping us unpack, but other than that, I think we’re pretty happy with this experience (read: ecstatic). Thank you Michael for getting us into our new home (with rental income to boot)!!!
