I know and love the Durham Region lifestyle, and have experienced it from so many different angles. It is where my core values and my real estate knowledge were learned.

Little did I know in 1984 the curiosity of an eight year old was about to lead me along a remarkable journey. I spent many of my childhood years exploring the “gems” of Durham Region including the ski hills, mountain bike trails, the Durham forest and hollowed out buildings in this town. As a kid I felt keenly excited to explore and learn everything I could about my remarkable natural surroundings.

As an inquisitive and adventurous youth, I listened intently to my dad and my neighbour converse, trying to predict the future forecast of the Region. I studied the detail of the subdivision plat maps in my neighbour’s office (a Realtor at the time) imagining what these areas would become one day. Real estate had already become a part of my life.

I left Durham Region shortly after graduating college at 20 years old. I made an impulse decision to move to Kingston Ontario in pursuit of something “different and exciting”. I would spend the next two years wondering why I abandoned the place that shaped my appreciation for family and community. Everything I thought I could find somewhere else was right here all along.

I missed everything about Durham Region: the seasons, the small town ambiance, and the tightly knit community feeling, and I eventually came back to my roots. During these years, my core values of honesty and integrity were solidified. I developed a finer appreciation for detail and I carried enthusiasm to work everyday, making business relationships with many people who became personal friends for life.
