A Refreshing Approach to Real Estate Sales
After putting my Marketing degree to work, finding success at a small company in Toronto straight out of university, I left my position as Nation Sales Manager and began following my new found desire to travel. After taking 3 months to drive around North America with some friends, I decided I needed to go further. My next trip brought me to Asia, and eventually led me to getting my Teaching Certificate and then my Masters in Special Education. I used this post graduate degree to work at one of Tokyo’s finest International Schools, an experience I will never forget. Although my wife and I were having the time of our lives working and traveling throughout Asia, once our first son was born, we chose to find our way home. This landed us full time in our vacation home in beautiful Collingwood, and the rest is history in the making.
Becoming a Real Estate Agent was something I always thought I would one day do, but couldn’t have imagined I would enjoy it so much. In fact, I thought I would just do it “part time” for some extra money. I quickly found out this was a very misguided thought, because I quickly realized it takes a lot of time and hard work to be successful in this industry.

I use my marketing background to effectively and actively market and sell homes in the Georgian Triangle. Our market is very unique, due to the number of buyers from out of town, so marketing that will reach them is essential. Further, I don’t just reach potential buyers to simply get them here, but I target truly interested, qualified buyers. I use my education background to help inform buyers and sellers so that they can make confident, intelligent real estate decisions. I’m able to intuitively predict what is needed to sell a house and what questions buyers will ask. The variety of skills I am armed with allows me to serve my clients better than anyone else can.
Personally, although I put many hours into my career seven days a week, it is family first and foremost. My beautiful wife Terri has joyfully and bravely given birth to our two amazing boys, Ross and Findlay. With Ross being born in the early part of 2008, and Findlay arriving 20 months later, we certainly have our hands full here at home, and we are loving every minute of it. You certainly realize what true, unconditional love is when being woken up at all hours of the night is no bother to you; instead it’s simply a call to find what’s needed to console your child. Fortunately, Terri’s career as a professional home stager and decorator allows her the flexibility needed to be home for the boys most of the time, not to mention how it compliments my work. I also enjoy the flexible schedule my real estate career affords me, as it allows me to play hockey with my little ones between work-related responsibilities!
