Jay Brown is President and sole owner of Tahoe Custom Builders, Inc. and has worked in residential and commercial construction for more than 25 years.

Jay is the 2010-2011 President of the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association (GFWBA), an 800+ member trade association that offers information resources and education for its members; interacts with legislative bodies to foster a positive building climate; provides a forum to implement policies that affect the building industry; and promotes professionalism in the building industry.

He has been a member of the GFWBA for more than 20 years and a director of the Association for the past eight years. He is also a member of the Texas Association of Builders (TAB) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Jay serves as the Chairman of the City of Keller's Planning & Zoning Commission, a position he was appointed to by the mayor and city council. He began his public service for P & Z in 2001 and has chaired the commission for the past four years. Jay also sat on the city's Technical Review Committee, working with city staff and the development community to implement comprehensive revisions to Keller's Unified Development Code.

He served the Fort Worth business community as a charter member, past president and board chairman of the Cowtown Executive Association. Additionally, he served as president of his neighborhood's homeowners association for four years, is past president of Rotary Horizon Club and supports Meals on Wheels, where he has been a volunteer delivering meals to the homebound for more than 15 years.

Jay received a B.S. degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Arlington and continues his professional education through courses offered by the GFWBA, TAB, NAHB and other organizations. He is a Certified Green Builder.

Jay enjoys the outdoors, where when he is not clearing cedars from his rural property in Bosque County, he has been known to occasionally lose a golf ball in the water or fall asleep in his deer blind.
