Personally, I’m an avid fly fisherman, cyclist, hiker, and reader. Professionally, I help businesses and individuals to cultivate their own potential through coaching/consulting and assessment tools. The balance between work and play I have achieved over the years fills my days with joy and fun new experiences. Here is a bit on how I became who I am today…

By the time I graduated from Eastern Michigan University, with my MBA in marketing and quantitative methods, I was ready to get some real world experience. Even though my focus was operating a business like those I had learned about, I never stopped being a student of the marketing and sales best practices. Reading and constant involvement with the small business community have replaced school as my source of learning.

When I first got to Colorado I started my search for companies that I could get into, make a decent sum/living and then move up. My first adventure was Mountain High Ice Cream. When I came to Mile High Ice cream they were at only $1 million in sales, and were confined to the premium quality ice cream business. During my time there, we grew the business to $2 million in sales and grew the company into natural food distribution company carrying several hundred of products.

My next venture was a partnership with some friends in which we bought, remodeled, and sold houses. My friends had extensive home building/remodeling experience, and I was the business guy. My job was securing loans to finance the rebuilds and to negotiate with the REALTOR when we were ready to put the home on the market. Until I met Bill Gervasini, all the REALTORS I had worked with had been unprofessional and seemed incompetent. Bill was different.

Bill worked for a regional real estate company called Van Schaack and Co. He was professional, well trained, knew his business, and was a joy to work with. He was also cleaner than me, seemed to be making more money than me, and wasn’t crawling around in 100 year old house dirt. Some might call this a sign, I’ll call it an opportunity. I took all the courses necessary to get my real estate license, sales license, broker’s license, and obtained my Graduate REALTOR Institute (GRI) designation within 6 months.

Now I put my Real Estate and marketing experience to work helping clients to come up with solutions to their busienss problems. Being a professional coach/consultant has allowed me to pursue my passions for marketing and helping people. I couldn't ask for anything more.

What have clients said about Reg’s coaching/consulting?

“Reg has helped me to analyze not only my systems' needs, but also assisted me in evaluating my individual skill sets, weaknesses and strengths. Using this invaluable information, I have discovered specific weak areas to improve. [Reg’s coaching service] saved me precious time, energy and frustration as I knew what to key in on instantly.”

-Cat Craig, Lookin Up Real Estate

“I know when I started working with Reg I was concerned about the financial investment.Don’t worry.I have earned between $10 and $15 of extra income for each dollar invested.”

-Judy Weinstock, ABR, CRS, Keller Williams Chapel Hill Realty

“Your approach to a problem has more to do with the identification process than just procedural stepping stones. Your approach washes thought over process, removing the sand, and uncovering the stones. You methodically help one to discover the not so obvious questions, client needs and expectations that must be deeply understood in order to realize a focused marketing plan for any business that will attract the proper client (potential clients too) response.

My gut says the ideas we spoke about have a much better chance of clearly evolving and succeeding than they did when I woke up this morning.”

-Richard Feist, Founder/owner, Seller Confidential of Northern Colorado

“I tried a lot of different marketing things, but they were all kind of hit and miss with no real plan of action and no measurement of results.

I feel now that I am on a sound program that is yielding results with a minimum of pain and effort. I appreciate the fact that you are as much or more interested in the balance of my personal life as you are with my success in selling real estate. It also helps to have you hold me accountable for doing the things that I might otherwise continue to postpone.”

-Wayne Thompson Broker/owner, ReMax River Valley

“I wanted to write you to thank you for all of your help in the past few years. I am positive that I could not be where I am now without your wisdom, guidance, and coaching. As I mentioned on the last group coaching call, I am having a monumental year.

After documenting, implementing, and systemically following the plans (or systems) that you and I came up with, I am experiencing great success. This month, May 2009, my GCI and Sales volume will be greater than all last year (2008).”

-Ian R Bennett, Senior Loan Office, Premier Mortgage

“Where have you been all my real estate life? After 25 years, I'm so glad we connected. Your expertise in organizing, marketing, networking and your business connections have proved invaluable. With your guidance, for the first time in my career I have created systems that have streamlined my marketing and transaction coordination. This has allowed me to realize my goal of being a productive lead generator for my company.

Communication with you is always clear and draws on your vast experience and great sense of humor. You are a valuable asset to any agent and real estate company.

-Joan Rogliano, Broker/Owner, Rogliano Real Estate Group

“Reg, I could write several pages as to how you have helped me but the other big thing that stands out is that you help me to stay focused on my business plan (that you again, helped me formulate) and you encourage me every step of the way. Admittedly, I get discouraged from time to time but when I come back into focus and work the plan... positive things begin to happen.”

- Jerry Readle, Associate Broker, ReMax Horizons Group

“Before meeting with you, I really felt like real estate was a career that began with a lot of luck and chance….a waiting game that could go on for years.I believed that the REALTORS that “made” it, were the ones that had enough personal savings to allow them to hold out long enough without going broke. I was able to keep myself busy, but not with activities that would generate income.

Once we began working together, I was able to see that I was truly creating a business not just a career.Automating my business systems, learning to create business plans in writing for all that I do, and really gaining an understanding of the 80/20 rule…80% of my success will be the result of 20% of my efforts. Most importantly, the importance and net effect of lead generation and a concrete marketing plan. These are a few of the things that have helped bring clarity and focus to my business.”

-Jennifer Saless, KELLER WILLIAMS Front Range Properties

“Reg Gupton assisted Front Range Anglers in formulating plans for and conducting the activity surrounding a Customer Focus Group. The objective was to uncover information that would be helpful in confirming current plans, developing additional business strategies, and establishing priorities for these activities. We were pleased with the process designed by Reg and found the results most helpful.”

-Bill Leuchten, Owner of Front Range Anglers

“The soft skills assessment tool that you recommended have signidicantly enhanced our recruitment and staff development process within the 72nd District Court.

With your guidance and support these tools have been deployed for both promotional and entry level recruitment situations in our court. In addition toa solid merit based selection system, we now have a tool with which to build custom professional development plans for each of our court service staff.”

-Jerry Celmer, Court Administrator

How has your business benefited from using ExpressCopy?

“I'd meet a new person or potential client I had no consistent way of reinforcing who I am and what I do with them. It was hit or miss. If we were looking at property then we'd speak often and they'd get lots of email but if it was someone I met say, at an event, I might remember to send them a letter or two and then they'd get lost in my database. People who have gone through my 8x8 and are now on the 33 Touch program have come up to me in the grocery store or the mall to thank me for being different than the other agents out there.

I can't buy that kind of favorable opinion with anything else I've tried.”

-Debra Berman, ABR, SRES, Royal LePage Partners Realty

“The postcard mailing project is, in my mind, a huge success. There is no question that it has greatly increased my market image among both my "past client base" and possible "referring realtors". We have discovered a double benefit. When we send "just listed" cards, we are receiving calls from both Realtors and past clients wanting to see those properties. It seems the longer we go, the better it gets. This certainly has me re-thinking next year's budget for advertising.”
