The Crockett Team . . .

David Crockett started his real estate career in 1984 after a 20-year career as the chief chemist of an international manufacturing company. From 1984 to 1994 he managed the most productive office of 32 offices of Smythe, Cramer Co., the leading real estate company in the Greater Cleveland area. At that position he was the recognized leader in growing market share, productivity and profitability.

In 1994, David left management to form The Crockett Team, Ltd., a mini-brokerage within the company, with wife Judie, daughter, Melissa Crockett Willis, and son, Todd. Together they built a market-dominant real estate business based on the "team concept" using effective systems, cutting-edge technology and a proactive marketing approach. In 1995, the Crocketts were selected as Star Power "Stars" by Howard Brinton, an internationally recognized real estate educator/speaker. REALTOR Magazine has honored The Crockett Team as being among the Top 100 Realtors in the country.

The Crocketts were an integral part in the development of the Star Power University series, college level real estate courses designed to teach top agents how to build a real estate business. Many of the courses were designed around The Crockett Team systems. David is a senior instructor for the "Team Building and Business Systems" and "Leadership" courses. In 2002, David started a consultation business providing on-site consulting services for Realtor � teams desiring to grow their businesses through systems and the "team approach".

David's popularity as an instructor and speaker is a result of his grasp of all aspects of the business, his experience as both a manager and a Realtor �, his common sense approach to building a business through effective systems, and his success in building a profitable, growing business through the team concept. In 2001, David developed and built ClevevelandHomeFinder.com, an internet-based buyer home search engine that has contributed greatly to growth of The Crockett Team's business. In 2006, David developed the strategy behind using "blogging" to capture the real estate market and built (with Blogging Systems) the first "Community Blogging System" in the country, LakeCountyBlog.com. He has presented on the Inman Audio Conference on Blogging and will be a featured presenter on the blogging strategy at the Inman Connect conference in July, 2006 in San Francisco.His presentations are notable for their straight talk, meaty content and humor.
