I've been a realtor for twenty years. But I took a break, believe it or not, during the boom years of 2003 to 2007. I opened a Yoga studio, traveled and hung out a lot with my two beautiful grandchildren. Why, you might ask, would a successful real estate agent get out of the market during one of the most prosperous times in real estate ever! Well as a long practicing Yogini, I believe in living a balanced life. And there was nothing balanced about that time--for anyone--agents, buyers or sellers. Yes, a lot of money was made but we can all see where that has gotten the country.
So I came back to real estate in the summer of 2007 and picked up where I left off. But I came back with a mission to help my clients to understand how important it is that we change our approach to how we live on our planet. As a "green" real estate agent I try hard to talk the talk and walk the walk when it comes to being environmentally conscious.
My interest in environmentally friendly living goes back to the mid-1970s. Helping my clients to become more aware of what they can do to lessen their impact on our increasingly fragile Mother Earth is a service I take pride in offering. Please take a look at the links on my website ( http://www.gayleflemingismyrealtor.com/ ) to help you live more sustainably.
In my capacity as a real estate agent I place the highest regard on my promise to ALWAYS put my clients' best interest first. Since 1989 I have had the pleasure of serving both buyers and sellers in the ever changing real estate market. I have helped both first time and repeat buyers to skillfully navigate the extensive process that begins with finding the right home and ends with settlement. In between, my goal is to make the experience as stress free as possible. I have helped sellers to prepare their homes for sale and advised them on market trends so that their home shows in the best possible condition, and their pricing decision generates a quick sale at an acceptable price.
Listening is an art and I pride myself on being a good listener. In asking the right questions and in listening carefully to the answers, I can best serve the needs of my clients and carefully advise them, knowing that I fully understand their objectives. My background in the philosophy and practice of Yoga and meditation helps me to create an environment that is calm and stress free during a process that can, like all of life, present obstacles.
As a member of the Matt Shepard Group at Keller Williams, I have the full support of the other agents on the team, including a full time assistant, in assuring that my clients are always taken care of.
I am a "green" real estate agent specializing in helping buyers and sellers and home owners to become more aware of how they can make their homes more energy efficient, and earth friendly. I am a member of the Green Building Institute, the US Green Building Council and Solar Energy International. If you are buying an older home that you plan to remodel, let me help you to choose sustainable, earth friendly home improvements. If you are doing remodeling to enhance your home's salability, let me help you choose sustainable earth friendly home improvements that can be marketed as eco-friendly. I encourage both buyers and sellers to have home energy audits and indoor air quality testing. I am continually building my knowledge base in sustainable remodeling, green building, energy efficiency, etc. so that I can best advise my clients. This is my passion and thus I have launched a going green real estate blog so that buyers and sellers can learn the simplest and most cost effective things they can do to begin greening their lives as it relates to their homes.
Since 1989 I have worked with real estate clients in Northern VA; including Arlington, Fairfax and Loudoun counties and the cities of Falls Church, Alexandria and Fairfax. I am at your service!
