An Expert in the Field

In addition to being a master inspector, I am a Field Inspector for Sunrise Career Institute, Inc. where I help train their home inspection students. The following is a letter of recommendation from the school’s Director:Inspection School Testimonial

Sunrise Career Institute, Inc.55 W. Old Country Rd., Hicksville, NY 11801, (516) 935–0006Email: Sunrisecareer@yahoo.com, Fax: (516) 935–2511March 13, 2008Dear Frank,From the beginning when we first met, you distinguished yourself with an impressive background and clear understanding of the principles of construction. You also displayed a maturity and appreciation of the field and the humility and respect for others that set you apart from many students who received their home inspection training at Sunrise Career Institute. You always had that quiet confidence and sharp ability to learn from a variety of experiences. As you progressed through the course your leadership emerged and it was clear to me that one day we would work together in training others to become professionals in this emerging field. And now you have actually begun to conduct inspections, and supervise and facilitate the learning of others during the required field work under the Home Inspection Law. Through my direct observations and the candid (and sometimes unsolicited) feedback from students you have led, I know I have chosen a true professional to uphold the high educational standards and growing reputation of Sunrise Career Institute. I am very proud to have you as part of our educational team.I just know that your career as a home and building inspector will be very successful and rewarding because the determination, conscientiousness and integrity that you bring to all life’s important activities will be ever present in your work as an inspector. Good luck to you as you launch your business.I am confident that we will remain colleagues and friends for many years to come.Sincerely,William Lupardo, M.S. Ed., Director

Inspection Overview A home cannot fail an inspection. A professional home inspection gives you an independent, unbiased view of any problems and their solutions, so that you will have all the facts you need to make a sound, informed decision.Depending on the size and condition of the home, a thorough home inspection will take no more than four hours, usually between an hour and a half and three hours. Ideally, you will accompany your inspector during the consultation, so that you will have visual reinforcement of your written report. We take our inspection reports seriously. Every inspection is a complete and thorough analysis of all the major systems and components in the home. The report includes a clear description of what we've found with any problem areas noted, so you can easily identify them. Our inspectors also provide a free telephone consultation after your inspection.A thorough home inspection will include the following: ~ Roof (shingles, flashings, chimneys, vents, trim and gutters, drip edges, skylights, downspouts, and other visible roof related items) ~ Attics (insulation, ventilation, rafters, joists and collar ties, trusses, wiring attachments, and other visible related items) ~ Plumbing and Fixtures (water pressure, water distribution system, hose bibs, sinks and faucets, bath/showers and toilets, sanitary system, and other plumbing system components including water purity and septic) ~ Interior (floors and ceilings, walls, stairs (if applicable) and banisters, finishes, sinks, cabinets, shelving, built-in appliances, smoke detectors and safety-related items, and other visible interior-related components) ~ Heating and Cooling Systems (furnace, air cleaning parts, ductwork, electronic monoxide testing, electric gas sniffer testing, air conditioner and lines, and other visible related HVAC components) ~ Electrical Systems (service entry and clearances, service panel, switches and outlets, visible wiring and junction boxes, grounding system, and other related electrical components) ~ Basements, Crawl Spaces, and Foundation (insulation, ventilation, posts, vapor barriers, utility attachment, structural items, floors and walls, and columns) ~ Exterior (siding materials, attachments, windows, doors, sashes and lintels, vents, entryways, and other visible exterior related components) ~ Decks and Porches~ Fireplaces~ Overall Structure
