I have been in one form of real estate or another for over 30 years (oooops - that dates me, doesn't it??). It was in the mid 80's when I was first licensed, but didn't do it full time until 1998. Since that time, I have also obtained my Broker's license; and while I have sold property all over the island, I pretty much specialize in the Central and Leeward areas. I have won several top agent awards in my career and feel confident in my negotiating skills.
I am also proud to say that I'm a "kama'aina" - meaning, born and raised in Hawaii. I have 3 children: a daughter in Colorado, a son in the Army (Ranger) who has already served several tours in Afghanistan, and the 'baby", who happens to be a Junior at our local high school. I LOVE Hawaii, but more important, I LOVE what I do in Hawaii! That is to say that I love assisting people with their buying and selling needs - nothing gives me greater pleasure than to be able to give the best service possible!
I have sold property from Hawaii Kai through Makaha - and everything in between. Nevertheless, I do specialize in the Central and Leeward areas and as a result, I tend to work with a lot of people in the Military. Perhaps it's because my son is in Active Duty, but the Military personnel (active and Veterans alike) here in Hawaii have a special place in my heart.
Additionally, I would have to say that what gives me the GREATEST pleasure is handing over the keys to a First Time Homebuyer! There is no amount of money or fame that can ever compare to the feeling I get when passing those keys to a young family. Purchasing a home can be quite stressful at times, but the anticipation is ALWAYS there for these First Time Homebuyers. Passing the keys to them, until today, gives me a wonderful sense of satisfaction.
