Connecticut REALTOR® Enza Dandeneau has been in real estate
for 28 years. An agent with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services-
New England Properties (BHHS-NE Properties) in Glastonbury, Enza has
received numerous accolades to include the Greater Hartford Board of REALTORS®
Yearly Sales award, Multi-Million Dollar Club and Top 7% Nationally at BHHS-NE Properties.
Enza has done all this with her husband of 34 years, Stephen, who is a 20-year licensed agent. Steve was an aerospace quality engineer for 35 years, but he recently
joined Enza as a full-time agent. With Steve’s technical abilities and attention to detail and Enza’s creative marketing background—learned from her former
position as an assistant to the director of advertising at the then-largest real estate company in the area—each brings a lot to the table. They rely on calendars and
charts to stay organized and focused.

The small size of Connecticut means Enza and Steve work with properties in many areas. This equates to a lot of driving time. Enza describes her area: “We serve a lot
of the state, not only central Connecticut, but the shoreline to northern counties close to the Massachusetts border. We go where the client wants depending on their
price point and sensibilities, whether a client’s interests
are rural acreage 40-miles away or city living.”

Living in Marlborough with a population of
approximately 6,000, keeping it personable is what Enza
is all about. Over time, she has built a business where a
whopping 95 percent of sales are referrals. “I do a lot of
work with relocation and with past contact from Steve’s
previous business,” she notes. “I work with many clients,
their families and friends, and that makes the business so
much more personal,” Enza says.

They work with resale, as well as new construction and
land, and also work with homes in 55+ active adult
communities. Enza explains their market: “We are not
concentrated in one area or one style of home. This year
we have land listings of various sizes, Stephen just sold our listing of a 140-
acre parcel with a 50-acre pond in Colchester. At the
beginning of the year, we closed several high-end sales,
as well as condominium sales at a local complex in Glastonbury.”

“Real estate is an interesting challenge,” states Enza.
“We have been through three recessions. The rewards of
seeing a family excited about a home far outweigh the problems.

Change is good, and I love being part of people’s adventure.” Clients like to have them aboard, as they make them laugh during the often stressful real
estate process and communicate according to their preference.

Enza and Steve find time to support the community,
especially through the Sunshine Kids Foundation, which
aids kids with life-threatening illnesses, so they are able
to travel and do fun things other children do. “I have been
co-chair of an annual golf tournament committee,” Enza
proudly exclaims. “This year, the golf tournament raised over $24,000 for the foundation, making our office the top fundraising office for BHHS-NE Properties!”

The duo are always working toward consistent business
growth. Being genuine and providing good information to clients is crucial to them. At the end of the day, they are not looking for a certain dollar amount for growth.
“If we take care of our clients, everything works itself
out,” believes Enza. “We stay focused on the people and the numbers happen.

If a customer is happy, it tends to reproduce itself.”
