I am a life-time resident of the Hudson Valley and current resident of the City of Newburgh, NY. My wife and I live in its Historic District, in an historic home we have restored. With my experience in real estate, planning and home restoration/renovation, I have served as a board member of Newburgh's Architectural Revue Commission, Newburgh Preservation Association, Newburgh 2020 (revitalization advisory board), and several other advisory/consultation groups related to real estate and revitalization. I am also an advisor to the Newburgh Community Land Bank. I am happy to put this knowledge and experience to use while helping my clients achieve their goals. My own professional goal is to have well-informed, happy and successful clients who become life-long clients!
My educational background is in fine arts & graphic design; and I have been a professional musician as well. In addition to my experience as a real estate professional, I feel my years of home renovation/restoration, civic & community involvement, and my years as a touring musician in a 7-member band have taught me a great deal about negotiation, cooperation, patience, communication and timing. The design background is also very useful when marketing a client's home.
All types of residential real estate in Orange, Dutchess & Ulster Counties - with added specialization in Historic Homes & high-end homes.
I am a trained & experienced real estate negotiator. I advise and guide my clients at every step; managing every aspect of the transaction (preparing a home for sale, CMA/market value, marketing, networking with other professionals/agents, identifying good comps, finding a home, helping to put your professional team together and manage them (attorney, mortgage specialist, inspector, etc), negotiating price, terms & contingencies, handling necessary legal forms & disclosures, scheduling & accompanying home inspections, negotiating/resolving inspection issues, scheduling & accompanying appraisals, dealing with appraisal issues, managing the time frame and all parties involved (making sure nobody is "sitting on your file"), scheduling and accompanying the walk-through & taking account of related issues for the closing, making sure nothing is over-looked at the closing... and after closing - being a resource for other local professionals, services and local information, etc.
