I have worked in VARIOUS Administrative Assistant roles for 18 years.   I have held the title of Legal Assistant, PBX Operator, Executive Assistant, Flexible Executive Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Executive Administrative Assistant, HR Assistant, Youth Ministry Assistant and Transcriptionist.

I have worked in the administrative assistant role at a variety of places, such as a financial services company, a health care company, a church, an accounting firm, law offices, a consulting firm and a warehouse.  In my employment with these companies,  I was always striving to provide the utmost excellent customer service to our clients as well as to my fellow co-workers.

I have always been the "support" person that helped to keep everything organized, that did the research to find the best product with the best value.  I always worked to ensure that I helped to improve and maintain my employers "bottom line...

AND NOW...

I have struck out on my own in an effort to achieve flexibility, balance and control over my daily life, my destiny and MY BOTTOM LINE.   

BUT…

I still am  the "support" person that helps to keep everything organized, that does the research to find the best product with the best value.  I always work to ensure that I help to improve and maintain my CLIENTS bottom line while providing them with the assistance that they are in need of.

I have been giving the opportunity to work in an area that I never thought of venturing into before…Real Estate.  I was giving the wonderful learning opportunity by a very kind and generous Real Estate Investor that needed assistance and was willing to take me under her wing and train me to do all of the support things (hardship letters, loan modification, researching home values) that I had never done before.

 

Some of the skills that I already possessed, I was able to utilize along with the knowledge she was giving me to make her office (client) procedures more manageable and less stressful.

 

*I was able to take my knowledge of web posting and post ads for buyers and renters.  I even took the initiative to research and try to find other sites besides the ones she gave me. 

 

*I was able to take my knowledge of Excel and recreate forms with formulas that could be used with all of her clients and make less work for us. 

 

*I was able to use my knowledge of Google docs and Windows Office Live to place client documents in a centralized place so she could access them without having to contact me if we were not working together that day.

 

*I was able to utilize MS Office programs to create little files for each client in order to have everything that they sent in or that was sent in pertaining to them at my fingertips.

 

*I created different email addresses for her according to the property she was handling (house, condo, luxury, apt, beachfront, rent, lease, purchase), I then had those addresses directed to my computer for easy access, reliability and contact with the client and her.

 

*I used Excel and OneNote to create and maintain what type of contact I had with clients and potential clients and what if any issues arose, what was accomplished, the purpose of the contact and what needed to be done.  I then sent this information to her at the end of our working day.

 

*I even upon her request researched ways for her to better utilize me when we first started out, which gave me an education and a lot of sites to refer back to in order to stay abreast of what is going on in the virtual world according to Virtual Real Estate (Assistants) Professionals.
