I have lived in the Washington Metropolitan area since 1980 having migrated from Kingston, Jamaica.
Today's real estate market has become more complex by virtue of the ever changing laws and regulations by which it is governed. In addition, because of technological advances, real estate is marketed quite differently from a mere few years ago. This means that first and foremost one needs to have not only the basic knowledge of real estate, but must also be motivated to keep abreast of the numerous regulatory and technological changes. This presents no challenge to me coming from a background in two other heavily regulated industries - accounting and financial services.
I continue to keep abreast of industry changes and other new challenges as evidenced by my ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative), GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute), SRES (Senior Real Estate Resource) and SFR (Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource) designations. Understand that these designations are held by very few realtors and so I am very proud to be a part of this exclusive club, so to speak which gives me the extra tools to take my service to you, my clients, a notch above.
